From a set you all know and love...

Paul Oakenfold - Essential Mix - Live at Gatecrasher - Lotherton Hall Leeds - 19/06/1999

The transistion from...

Olmec Heads - Spiritualized (Astral Mix)

To...

Space Brothers - Heaven Will Come (Olmec Heads Remix)

At...

71 Mins 52 Secs (Timed in Winamp)

Its just a straightforward cross-fade over but the power of the kick in of the bass is unbelievable plus the crowd cheers in the back ground! Turn it up full blast at that point and youll see wot i mean.

And your favs are?

in hell man, that is a fairly specific question!!! :eyespop:

I'm sure I do have a favourite if i thought bout for a while but that would involve effort. I suppose in general, the live transistion that gets me everytime, is any time "Kay D Smith & Marc Tall pres. Passive Resistance - Praiseworthy Tunes" is brought in. When the start of this is tune is brought in during a live set, it makes me go ing mental!! You always know when its coming up by its distintive beat but when the first note of the main tune is repeated over and over again with the beat, I nearly piss myself with excitement! There have been too many times when this has happened to single one particular time out but ones that do stick in the memory are Mr. Spring @ Coloursfest, Carrickmacros 2003 and Fergie @ Godskitchen, Dublin 2004. For those of you who don't know what I mean, listen to the Gatecrasher Live album mixed by Marco V and Scott Bond. Its on Marco V's mix (CD1) and its from track 6 into track 7. 4 things must be done first:
1) Higher up the volume.
2) Make sure everything valueable is a safe distance away from you
3) Have a spare pair of boxers ready
and finally
4) Go ing mad!!!!!

in universal religion 2004 i like it when armin plays "talk like a stranger (markus schulz coldharbour remix)" over "foreplay".... if you listen to that mix, it's just great and the energy "foreplay" gives is perfect.

total n00b moment... but in the liveset you mention (lotherton hall) i thought mara's "one (hamel implant remix)" and the space brothers "forgiven (origin mix)" were actually one long song (didn't realize at first those were two different songs) so i guess that transition is up there too! i LOVE it when the origin mix of "forgiven" kicks in... again, so much energy!

Armin van Buuren - 004 Transparance CD1
way out west - mindcircus (dj dazzle royal air force mix)-->
into
busy boys fr NAT - flow emotion (galea and lush mix)

when Armin cross mixes the vocals from mindcircus with flow emotion.
"can I please have some silence?" --- "water floating down my stream..." --- "how about some space?"
"oceans filled with all my dreams..." --- "how about some space?"

WICKED good transition!

Tiesto's Live at Dutch Dimension 2002...

from Slam - Lifetimes into The Ambush - Everlast...it's a Lieb track that never got released i think...and in my top 10 favorites.

seriously, that transistion gets me so pumped, i can't even explain it.

i'll have to think of some others...that's the one that stands out the most in my mind right now.

Everlast was actually released twice, first on Grand Casino (sublabel to Superstition), and then when Tiesto started caning it I guess the repress on Superstition UK (with the Dave Angel remix) came along to meet the demand.

For some reason I keep remembering the transition between David Forbes - Answers and Rafferty & Kershaw - We Are Connected (PvD @ Energy 2003). The tracks themselves aren't all that, but the way Paul times the snare rolls of both tracks to hit simultaneously and then backspins Answers out of the mix just as the bass drops on We Are Connected is rather awesome.

I don't know why I like the transition in Ferry Corsten's Hyperstate set back in 99 between one tune and The Generator - Where Are You Now [Moonman Remix]

hard question to answer....

I remember a mix from a TA named Stu Cox, his last transition between

DK - murder was the bass
and
Marco Baily - Crooked Law

Pure awesomeness

Carl cox made some crazy transition in his EM live at Que Birmingham back in the days in 1996

Just goes to show how he mixed the perfect tune to go after the next, you can hardly notice the transistion,it all flows so well.

Playing tht set in my car is unreal, cruisin down a motorway at 70mph with Jon Vesta - Gull (Natious Mix) blastin is out of this world.

try it! ;)
