Tiesto @ Crobar 11/26 (21+) review

Started out for me with a line that went around the corner, which led to a wait of a little over 2 hours.
While waiting, I saw a fight break out across the street, involving people who were kicked out of Quo.
The cops had to get involved when the action spilled onto the street.
Earlier, they also confiscated booze from people, and gave them tickets.

Tiesto was terrific, playing from 1:15 am to 6:30 am.
However, it was too crowded for my tastes. Wouldn't have been so bad if everyone just stayed put in the same place, but no, instead there was lots of moving around in every direction, and a good amount of pushing and shoving.
Also, too many juiceheads. In some parts of the club, it was quite a dudefest.

The number of my coat check ticket was 643, which was pretty cool

got there with a crew of ten at around 11:30 and the lines were as deep and far as the eye could see... got inside in about 10 min thanks to hookups and serge was dropping a dope set as usual (playing some leama and moor and a nice remix of inxs' 'i need you tonight.')

club was beyond packed -- saw firemarshals making their rounds through the club at certain points and i heard that they had put a stop on further admittance for a while. pretty sure tiesto came on @ 1:45 and was still going strong when i left shortly after 6. set was dope with loads of new tunes that are going to be a bitch to tracklist. met fellow tiestophile and TA roninmess who seemed like a cool guy.

low points: hearing love comes again and just be; too many dudes; almost got into a fight.

set opened with mark norman's touch down with playmo being dropped as i left. full tracklist to come in 2 days.

def. too exhausted for the second wing of the back-to-back tonight...

talk about a night of TWO extremes...

awesome party...BAD crowd...

Tiesto was actually VERY GOOD last night -- even though he started later than we thought...Serge was awesome although the basslines got somewhat repetitive around 1am but then he threw down that sick remix of Need You Tonight - INXS - by that time the crowd WANTED Tiesto. Anyway at one point of Tiesto's set, CroBAR's sound system ed up, and the music stopped but other than that he was REALLY REALLY GOOD :tongue2 Flight 643

The crowd was BAD...Crobar was packed wall to wall last night, every TYPE of clubgoer was there last night...it seemed more like a packed CONCERT than a club -- think ppl smack up against each other and a lot of JERKS in the crowd -- but yeah it was still 21+ so I have NO freakin idea how its going to be TONIGHT with 18+ :nervous: :nervous:

but yeah got in the area early (around 8-9 cuz we were there for other things) and found parking...we chilled at BRITE BAR...saw Crobar staff and bouncers come in. They left around 9:30pm. We decided to follow shortly. So we walk OUT of the bar, and round the corner...only to see the line ALREADY across the street from Quo wtf...:whip: it wasn't even 10 yet!!! then we get in around 11ish...pass a line for coat check that started FROM the bathrooms -- and Serge was already on the decks...from there on...we went to the FRONT and just held our place firmly for the 5 hrs we were there...i believe that was the BEST SPOT for sure...I felt really bad for the ppl in back of us, they were getting crushed by the ever growing crowd...and we were all fighting madd ppl who tried to get to the front...geez. a fight almost broke out behind Drew, and

didnt see any TAs :( was looking for ppl. i don't regret going last night though. I know cuz I did not drink alcohol or intake any substances whatsoever. lol. Actaully a lot of ppl around us were straight sober...and having the time of their lives, it seemed. :D :D :D thank god we left before he threw down "Love Comes Again". I could def live widout hearing that song ever again...

Lol, thats cool about your coat check number. I'm starting to hate the trends of the clubs just being rammed full and not being able to move. I mean I want to get my groove on not be shoulder to shoulder with a couple of dudes. It has been like that the last time Armin and PvD were here in Atlanta. Ahh well, I guess their poplularity and the poplularity of their music is growing.

maybe next time tiesto could spin at a bigger venue like roseland or hammerstein(dunno if hammerstein is bigger or not)?

unfortunally thats a becoming the problem in NJ/ NYC. Its becoming more about "Being Seen" and less about the music
