I highly doubt it.
Most events don't allow cameras in MTL, that's just the way it is. I doubt RedLite is any different. |
That's how it is for a lot of events in New York too and some in Toronto.
If you bring a camera and they catch you, do they just make you check it?
I'm hoping to find an email address or something from Red-Lite where I can contact them to find out directly. I wouldn't want to miss out on taking my camera if I can. Nor do I want to take it and find out we can't bring it in b/c it's an expensive camera. |

Done and done...I emailed them just now...if they get back to me in time I'll post the reply here :) |

If they catch you with it at the door, I'm sure you could just play dumb and say you didn't know ;) . Then you'd probably have to coat-check it or go back to the car if you're afraid of it getting stolen.
If they catch you inside with it, I don't think they'll be so nice hehe. I think it was fastmp3 that got caught at Aria a little while ago and they made him delete the shots he had taken already... skecthy!
But again, this is from all my experiences in montreal, excluding redlite (never been). But I'm sure they'll have a similar policy. |

Thanks for the info...well I just emailed them, so hopefully they'll get back to me on time. There's a bar in Toronto I know that's the same with pictures...they make you delete them all if they catch you inside with one.
I don't understand why they don't want people to have cameras to document such an awesome night. |

Ya if only eh! I think it's more a legal issue...sometimes they have hired photographers for $$$ that have exclusive rights to take pics. Plus, I think they don't want pictures of cracked out ppl which may tarnish the image of their club. So it's a privacy issue too, can only take pics of other ppl if you have their written consent.
Malek would know much more about it, but I think that's the jist of it!
You'll just have to document the awesome night in your head
:p |

At most bars I'm allowed to. When I go to the Guvernment in Toronto I always can. Whenever I've gone to the Docks though...for Tiesto...you haven't been allowed to. But I think that's more Tiesto! haha
The one I was thinking of most though is The Comfort Zone in Toronto which is an after hours bar. So there are a LOT of cracked out people there...and I think that's the reason why they don't want people seeing all of that. I don't blame them.
A lot of places I've been to allow them though. Or there'll be this big controvery of people not knowing and hearing different things from "good sources" and then it turns out you CAN bring your camera. I just don't want to check it if I can't, and I'm taking a cab...so I want to be as sure as possbile. |

exactly what I want to do~ I'm a picture whore. I love documenting the night.
Note to get all nerdy here...but my grandma used to show me pictures of her and her friends at all these fun get togethers they would have as she was growing up...and since then I always have a camera in hand. Not the best photographer...but regardless...I love having pictures.
Hopefully they'll get back to me and say we can bring cameras! |
