Yes, that lady was overcompensated but she wasn't wrong in suing McDonalds.

There is actual FDA regulations on how hot restaurants are allowed to keep beverages. And this isn't more political policing so please don't ing get on my case for that thanks.

It's a safety issue. Second and Third degree burns aren't fun. Perhaps you'd like to google some images of them to see for yourself.

All people ever hear is that some lady sued McDonalds over hot coffee and won - not about the extent of her scarring, hospital bills, or the fact that McDonalds was keeping its coffee WELL OVER regulated temperatures. If that coffee had spilled on a child, I'm sure a lot of people would be singing a different tune.

me thinks if she concentrated on driving instead of drinking coffee at the same time no burns would have occured. What about those who sue home
owners for injuries occured during robbery attempts...i mean srsly.

Srsly you've never spilled something on yourself while you were trying to drive?

You're a champ. I've done it on many occasions.

Ya rly.

We should just get rid of Tim Horton's drive thrus as that would further lower the probability of having coffee spilled on us while simultaneously being in a car.

Apples and Oranges Yohan.

The point of the matter is, the coffee was TOO HOT. Like, exceeding FDA regulations hot. Second and Third degree burns hot. THAT'S REALLY ING HOT.

And therefore, yes it is McDonald's fault and if their actions result in HOSPITAL BILLS, they should be held ing accountable. Get off the idea that she spilled it on herself blah blah blah and therefore it's not McDonald's fault. I've spilled Tim Horton's coffee on myself. Why am I not suing them you ask? Hmm, maybe because the spill didn't result in medical ing attention.

See above post.

McDonalds lady never got in an accident. Why are you talking about car accidents? If you're going to attempt to demean my argument, can you at least stay on topic?

Lady bought coffee.
Lady spilled it on herself.
Lady incured second degree burns due to McDonalds oversight of FDA regulations.
Lady go to hospital.
Lady suffer.
Lady have to pay hospital bills.

It's pretty ing simple.

LMAO
dc ajaxs
it seems more and more people just forget to think before they do something.

eg. this coffee cup feels extemely hot, I should wait a minute before drinking it or wait until the next red light for a taste.

sure mcdonalds was at fault but I still think people are always looking for people to blame for their own "stupidity"
