Psh...any job that interferes with WMC is no job at all. It's some kind of diet pill pyramid scheme set up by demons hell!
Go with the wedding excuse...I think i've had several cousins in Canada get married last year ;). I've never even been to Canada. |

the official "WMC" is March 24th – 28th but don't forget that there's the MMC (Miami Music Conference) & that's usually around the 21st or 22nd (that's when Space begins to throw their parties) |

My stupid fcuking job has this policy that no one is allowed to take their vacation from January - April (I work in Accounting) ... that raises a HUGE problem considering that WMC is in March & that would be when I take my vacation time...
I've been with them a year...if they say that I can't do it, I'm planning to quit & still get my vacation pay.
What do you guys think? |
I work for SunTrust..they did the same thing last year. I told my boss that I had already purchased tickets/hotel reservations. There is always an exception to the rule. |

There are no exceptions when you're an accountant in the busiest weeks of tax season. It's you people with no career values that are telling her to put the party before work, especially when they're counting on their team the most at this time of year.
Besides, you knew for many months that you wouldn't be able to breathe until April 15th. Even if you quit, you reference will likely reflect that you left during the busiest possible season.
There's always a bigger, better party. Miami is nice, WMC is sick, but you'll get over it. Hit Ibiza in July. |

+1
I guess that's the difference when half of you are in college, though. My girlfriend and I probably won't be making it this year because one of the cases that I work on is scheduled for trial in March and my girlfriend's MCAT class is going on then. I mean, it sucks, but parties aren't really my highest priority in life.
Her taking vacation 3 weeks before taxes are due is akin to me taking vacation right before I go out of town for trial and will completely her recommendations.
If it means that much to you to go, you should quit ASAP, rather than in the middle of the busiest time of the year. |

absolutely well said. I guess your right. Liz think about it really long and hard. We know you really love the music, but if it's going to reflect on your resume as badly as i think it will, then hmmmm....
btw hitting ibiza would cost more, she lives in Miami. That's another thing to think about. |

| Lis, if you quit your job to party you will go from Crackhead to Junkie in my books. Seriously, some things rank above partying, if you cannot see that then you lack the responsibility and maturity to be a crackhead. |

Again, there's always another big party. Don't late WMC decide the fate of your job. Get some quality experience on your resume, and make sensible plans to work somewhere else next year so you don't miss it again. |
