I like the visual experience how you describe there yes, but I just think the whole 'big budget' film thing ruins great fantasy. I prefer to read it and imagine it myself rather than mindlessly be told what it should look like, especially when it's crammed into a 90 min film slot that is usually more focused on the 'awesome graphics' than the acting or story.

yeah true.

Good thing it's only a quite short story as afr as fantasy goes so hopefully not too much will be left out.

even with a relatively short novel, any book translated to big screen will inevitably lack the detail and background of the book.

what's good is that the hype over the movie will introduce people to the series and the marvellous works of CS Lewis.

i always have hope for the big epic films. if & when done properly they can be really really good. imo LOTR finally dragged fantasy back into the mainstream, and did it for ADULTS *looks at lucas and frowns*

luckily i cant remember about the narnia books so i shouldnt be judging the film too harshly.

and as a side note, harry potter sucks big dick.

Rand Al'Thor owns u all.

I remember they made one ages ago, but nothing compares to the book!

damn this brings back alot of childhood memories, reminds me of my innocence before I discovered electronic music. Its pretty much been a downward spiral from there.

There was a series of LW&W?!?!

I must've had a sheltered childhood.

I felt that some of the Harry Potter films were quite good, despite some pretty horrible acting. Namely the first one... and the new one (but only because it had Cassanova in it). Having said that I've never read the Harry Potter books, and I never intend to.

(Up to A Song Of Fire and Ice: Book 2 now eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

w00t not long to go!

Actually I do remember seeing a series of the lion witch and the wardrobe.. on abc or something aaaaaaaaaaages ago. It wasn't too bad I thought.

I'm almost convinced to see this film completely based on all of the religious uproar it's caused lol.

Just came back from seeing this movie this afternoon. Was fairly impressed, have never read the books so didnt know what to expect but found this movie to be pretty enjoyable. Once it gets going it holds your interest the entire way through and the special effects are very cool. Worth the price of admission. :gsmile:
