also s up my SB Live 24-bit USB asio driver.. with FL Studio 5 i could get 4ms latency with it, but FL Studio 6 won't even work with it, so i'm stuck with using directx :(
the program is sweet though.. lots of nice features, and the newstuff song is so ing awesome! definitely going on the next CD i burn for my car, hehe |

| I heard that there are alot of bugs with 6.0. I guess I'll wait for an update before I switch over. |

In FL's defense, I'd like to point out that most producers that use it do not have a great system. Most dont have studio monitors, most dont have top of the line soundcards and hell, most of them dont even use very good VST plugins. FL Studio is certainly capable, but the people that use it often dont know how to bring out its true quality. So I guess all of you people slamming the program should ask yourselves these things: |
A little late replying to this, but honestly, FFS, you guys sound like broken records. How many times do we have to hear this line? Yes, we know it's possible to produce the same quality music in FLS as it is in Cubase or Logic, it's just a whole lot more difficult and tedious to do so. It's not the sound quality that people complain about, it's the candy-apple non-modular non-Win32-Compliant interface with limited routing capability, lack of delay compensation, noticeable inefficiency, inability to preview tracks in realtime on the "highest" quality setting, very limited in-place audio editing and arrangement capability, immaturity of the MIDI/Sysex automation system, etc. etc.
Are these things show-stoppers? Do they make it "impossible" to create good music? Well, obviously not, but don't bitch at the rest of us because we don't feel like jumping through hoops to perform simple tasks that take all of 3 seconds to do in other sequencers. I don't mean to sound like an arrogant prick, but a lot of tunes I hear coming out of FL are good but also quite simple in their arrangement and structure. As the complexity of a track increases linearly, the time it takes to produce it in FLS seems to grow exponentially for me.
| quote: | | 1. Have I used the most updated version of FL? |
Yes.
| quote: | | 2. When I did try/use FL, did I have the great VST plugins? |
Yes.
| quote: | | 3. Was I useing a good setup with studio monitors and a decent soundcard? |
The same setup I have now.
| quote: | | 4. Do I know the program in and out like I do with Cubase/Reason/Logic/whatever? |
Yes!
Please people, I never come around here to bash FLS without provocation but I am just so goddamned sick of hearing moronic comments like "you couldn't get good results with FLS because you didn't really learn the program / you don't have any skill as a producer / you bought all your fancy equipment and plugins after you switched". I know how to get good results with Fruity. I can open it up right now and produce a decent tune. I don't want to. It's not a pleasant experience for me!
People can create great graphics in MS Paint doing it pixel by pixel, but that doesn't mean they *should*, or that people who prefer to use Photoshop are somehow less talented artists. |

| oh man i gotta post again. I am rendering a song, playing poker and on tranceaddict all at the same time. This is compared to rendering and leaving my pc for 5minutes. That new visual eq is really easy to use. The compression is now veryyy user friendly. hats down to fl studio 6 for making my christmas dreams come true. |
