months after 9/11 I was flying back home to NYC with my GF from Rome and she told security I had a pound of Coke up my anus.
She was laughing.

I lucked out and the stone cold customs officer didn't strip me.

its a tough situation. the dude did have problems..but . what a tough situation. I can totally see why he was shot, while also i could see why they couldve taken a little more time..but . he was going nuts.

I know; they should at least waited until he tried to detonate the bomb he claimed that he had.
I mean, seriously, he might not really have had one. To save one person's live, or 200; THAT, my friends, is a chance worth taking. |

Wait until he tried to detonate the bomb? And what's the guarantee that the marshal will stop the guy before he successfully detonates the bomb?
Did the guy have a bomb or not, well the marshal doesn't know for sure. All he could do is act based upon info he has, which is that some guy is threatening that he has a bomb, dangering lives of everyone on that plane which his job is suppose to protect. |

He could have.. you know, tried talking to the person to calm him down instead of pulling out a gun and yelling at him to "STOP!" and to get his ass on the floor.
But maybe you are right. Air Marshalls arent very well trained in negotiating, just in use of force. Thats there job after all.
But im sure I would have done the same thing. After all, you get to kill a person without any consequence. Cause in our society it would be considered "self-defence" instead of "murder".
Its like getting a "Get out of jail" Free card. |
