In your opinion: What influance does Age has over the clubbing scene?

Most of the people here are at their teen years, think a "few" years ahead when you'll turn 50 for example... will you still be clubbing?
I know it's not a matter of age, I mean- I sapose i'll still be listening to Trance when i turn 50 or so, but my question refers for clubbing, not listening.
I mean... will you actually be going to clubs at that age?
Today's electronic culture is based on 10-30 year old people, I doubt there are communities with "Old" clubbing people, nor any of you ever saw a clubbing geezer :)
So basicly there is an age limit for a clubber when you come to think of it... What do you think? |

I don`t think there is an age limit but other things become more important when you get older. You suddenly have a job, maybe a wife/husband and even kis...that`s a lot of responsibility, so I think that the urge to go clubbing is getting weaker as other things turn into focus.
I still believe that I`ll listen to trance even when I turn 50!:p |

same here , but do you think on friday and saturday night tell my wife and kids : "sweethearts i'm going to an after hour" ? or let them know u bought a ticket for innercity ? or that you are going to the love parade during the summer if it still exists ? |

| I'll probably still be listening to trance but I agree with Sir. Lunch, other things will become more important. Also, raves may not even exsist then because of all the controversy about drugs. Hopefully that won't happen though |

well ive noticed in europe that younger ppl go clubbing more cos of the lower drinking age and stuff!
here in the US, you can really go to 21 and over clubs once you turn 21 (well leagally)....which sucks, i'll be turning 22 and i'm still considering myself a newbie clubber:D....but boy do i hate it when i see ppl in their late 20's in a club....i just want ppl my own age there;)
i dont think i'll be clubbing when i'm 50, i'll be doing other stuff.....ppl change as they grow, this is what i do now
probably not the same thing i'll be doing when i'm old but that's ok, as long as i'm enjoying life at all stages of it!

the chillout rooms. :) Theres a rescent issue in BPM magazine about chill out music etc. for people who's clubbing days are over. No i will not be clubbing when im 50. Ill be whinning about those stupid teenagers :D jk |

yeah, those wine bars. u just sit down there, have a sip of yr fav drink & just chill.................
I'm only 20 and i'm enjoying chilling out as much as raving..
maybe my retirement is coming ??? |

there might be no age limits in future, bt i think will get bored of it
i can´t speak of myself or anybodyelse here, i just refer to my sister.
she went to clubs all weekends(when she was still going to school).
but now she´s working hard and she doesn´t want to go to any club, only very few times. she mostly chills out with friends... |

Well, being a little older (25), i'm finding its sort of weird. First off, you don't really get bored with it, as long as you balance it out. But, the problem happens when you've been there, done that. Where is there left to go?
The norm for most people my age actually do go to wine bars, regular bars, and cheesy places like that. Do I really want to do that? Thanks, but no thanks, i'd rather not even go out. :mad:
To top it, i'm not the family type, so that isn't an issue. But, each scene has its limits, and i'll have to drop out one of these days (unless I start DJing soon).
Maybe I should just become 'that crazy old man'.
I dunno, really...
At least the Dutch give me hope that I can do this until i'm about 30...:p |

It doesn't.
I'm 31 and I do pick and choose my events...
I did the been-there-done-that thing and I go to larger events probably once every 2-3 months. I used to go clubbing every weekend in college.
I enjoy the music and dance my ass off; I can still dance better than 90% of you out there anyways...and last longer... ;)
(Going to the gym regularily helps btw...)
I can honestly say that I don't visit the chillout rooms at all; but I might next time just to check it out...

Personally, I only have one life to live and to hell with the age gap.
Why should I become one of the 'living zombies' driving their tin coffins back and forth between work and home everyday?? How absolutely boring... |

Well I'm 27 now and I still feel like I'll be clubbing all my life, but definitely not in the same way as I used to.
I guess the difference with me now as opposed to 10 years ago, is that I used to think it was a failed night out if I didn't cane it until I threw up, pull a new little teenage slapper every night and have ringing ears until the following Thursday :rolleyes: The most stupid thing is that I was listening to DJs and going to clubs that I didn't even like half the time, just to be part of the crowd.
Now I've got a serious girlfriend, I'm a couple of years into a decent job, and I also know I've got a tiny but measurable amount of hearing loss already, that really freaked me out when I found out last year, so I guess I mainly only go out now when there's a DJ or club night that really appeals to me.
I'm happy once every couple of months to go hard to a good DJ, get off on the music and go home still standing on my feet and remembering most of it, and I reckon that I will be doing it for a good few decades yet.
Does that mean I'm already an old c*nt? Probably ... ah well ... you young buggers, it'll catch up with you one day :toothless
