On the 23th of December A STATE OF TRANCE YEARMIX 2005 MIXED BY ARMIN VAN BUUREN will be available on 2 cd's in the Netherlands! This brilliant mix contains 82 of the best dance tracks of 2005 in a 2 hour mix. This mix will be broadcasted worldwide by the stations which broadcast the A state of Trance-radio show.

| I am sorry for saying this and i dont mean to start any wars between Armin fans either tis just my opinion. I do not see anything special in that tracklist. alot of the tracks in it are really played out not that they r bad tracks but you know new tracks that Armin played in ASOT 2005 would have been much better. I hope the year end mix will not be same. |

One small disappointment...I'm not really happy with the remix of Without You that's on there, or the remix of Fire...but whatever...still AWESOME CDs! |

Yeah, wth?
80 mins on a cd - which is the same as:
4800 seconds.
44 tracks in 4800 seconds - is
109 seconds per track - which is
1.8 minutes
A trance compilation where the tracks are a minute each?? I like my seven minute tunes....:nervous:

You go to a club event, and you take pictures. You've already been there, and you've already experienced the event. BUT you want to go back and relive those good times and good moments so you pull out those old pics. Not the newest, maybe not the best quality, but theyre still good, entertaining, and take you back to good times.
That's what this mix cd is like. An aural snapshot of the year - and what a year it was :):D |

i fully agree with you sir. no argument there but heres my thought.
half of them tracks are not 2005. all i am trying to say is that if the cd was 10 tracks and tracks that were on it came only from 2005 ASOT and not like The Drill - The Drill in my opinion it would have been better. and lil math genius in you calculated it 1.8 minute per track ... thats like a tease, as soon as u get into the groove its over. kinda like putting a fat kid on the end of a choclate assembly line with his mouth open and when the choclate gets near to his mouth its taken away.

I agree, I dont like the track lengths. BUT just because a song isn't "from 2005" doesn't mean that it doesnt capture the essence of '05.
If I released a pounding choon today and Armin didnt start hammering it until 2007, being the music connaseur that you are you would have heard it. But it didn't mean anything to anyone else until Armin played it in 07.

meh its just the main hooks from each song strung together.
like a danny d street mix more or less haha
i definately wouldn't give this a WOW. be cool to hear, like his one last year, but i doubt many people will listen to it more than a couple times.
but yea snapshot of the year is a great way of putting it. |
