I agree. I haven't been too big of a fan of the sound at all, but everytime I check out a set or a tune from one of them, it all sounds too similar.
Meh. |

well, they have a signature style. in armin's EARLIER productions (sound of goodbye, rapture, dust wav) they all had that same bass. even tho i am a big fan of the sweds, i will be the first to admit that a lot of their tracks sound similar. i guess this could be a bad thing to some people, but hey the boys are consistent! but then again they will produce a track that sounds a lot different than their normal stuff and it will be a bomb (i.e. goldfrapp's remix of number one)
BUT i wouldn't go so far to say their style is "played out" or the "mcprog" of house...i mean, they'd have to sell out a little bit before getting branded with that title, eh?
:tongue2 |

:tongue2 | i dont think so. to me honestly markus never really sold out, but his productions really lost flavor after a while. i guess part had to do with hundreds of choons being produced by different poeple with the same style/sound/melodic style... which hasnt happened yet but im guessing it will happen soon to A&I. if that makes sense:conf: by no means am i saying their productions are bad, only saying they sound alot similar and sooner or later they will follow the footsteps of the pregressive trance i feel :s |

| Some of it's starting to get redundant, but then there's Eric Prydz to save the whole lot. |

| I like their stuff...used to like it a lot more when i first heard it but ya it ended up all sounding the same, mainly angello/ingrosso, espically angello. I still love prydz, i think hes got the most talent of the lot. wouldn't call it mc though..hasn't spawned a load of immitators,,,,just yet anyways...its not bad, just becoming too similar as they put out more and more songs. Its a hell of a lot better than french house/commercial house thats for sure. |

You knew filtered "electro" house at some point was going to fall out of favor with the collective. This is the first sign.
And, no, I don't think Angello and Ingrosso are redundant. |

| i dont get why people call it electro either??? its not at all |

I can't wait to give you your massive backhand via AIM :p
I will EASILY admit that their tunes do sound incredibly similar. They really do. Axwell's sound similar, as well as Sebastians, as well as Steve's, and Eric's, and wait... EVERY PRODUCER! Nearly all successful producers have a distinct style and set of synths and perc they use. Steve & Sebastian as a duo have somewhat of a map to making remixes, but they're not exactly the same. Calling this McProg is almost offensive to me. I remember when the Mafia wasn't that popular, and they still had the same sound, and same sort of redundancy, but noone said anything. Now as soon as they start to have multiple threads about some tune being awesome people get annoyed and try to bring them down.
I agree with UWM also in the fact that Eric seems to be pushing the genre envelopes and making some killer different stuff. |
