| I don't know the answer to this question, but dude, Diginut, no one is forcing you to respond to these threads, or even be on this forum. You and I both know that 75% of the questions asked on here are either about hardware or complete n00b "how do i strt mkaing mad trance!!1" questions. This is a help forum. Stupid questions don't warrant verbal humilation, and since so many of the threads posted on here are by n00bs (who never read your very well-made stickies) I would suggest simply not responding to them rather than taking down their posters. If you don't like answering n00b questions I'd suggest sending a demo to AP. I'm on there and there are -never- repeat questions. |

I apologized earlier for the comment, there's no need to dedicate another page of this thread to debating whether or not it should have been posted. |

| I personally will never buy a creative/Ensoniq/EMU card again. About 6 years ago they sold the E-MU APS as a top of the line DAW card. The drivers were always buggy and they never really fixed the bugs. I ended up finding out that it used the same chipset and drivers as the crap Audigy. In fact, a lot of people ended up running Audigy cards with the emu drivers. So I wouldn't be suprised if they are still pulling the same stunts with newer cards these days. |

| I never understand why sound cards are debated so much. I personally use an Audigy card and it works perfectly. |

I don't know why I would need to be an Electrical Engineer to read the branding on micro chip ??
I ain't going to get into a flame war here either. I know what I know and you know what you know.....end of discussion. |

| Thanks for all the comments. I looked around the web and at the comments you've all made, and I decided to go with the Audiophile because I plan on recording acoustic guitars, and vocals, and I trust that the 24/96 will handle recording better than the 0404. Thanks again. |

Christ man, the branding on the chips doesn't tell you anything about what the board does. The same 4 silicon chips can be used for millions of different applications. Hell, like I said earlier, the same ONE silicon chip can be used for that many, depending on what the chip is (and DSP definitely qualifies for that category). |

no, but the drivers tell me creative have had their grubby hands on it, and everything about the 0404 smells of creative. The drivers, like I say are almost byte for byte as the Audigy 2. Doesn't take much thinking to see that the two cards are related.
just my experience with the EMU 0404......I can't say the same for the Audiophile as I've had it in my machine for 4 years now and it's been rock solid ever since. |

Creative own Emu from what I can remember. Might explain a lot.

there is no right answer for every setup, that's why these threads crop up repeatedly. personally i'd suggest the m-audio delta 44 if you can get it :)

The INF files are similar perhaps, but INF files are not drivers and that does not make the two cards related. For starters, the Emu drivers are about 5 times larger than the Audigy drivers.
Yes, there is no doubt about it, Creative has "had their hands on it" to some extent, but it's still an Emu product and it is not an Audigy or any kind of derivative product.
I think their biggest mistake was putting the Creative label on it - that's what started all these rumours in the first place. |

I'm sorry, that was uncalled for, it just seems like I've been seeing another one of these threads every day for the past week, and we really shouldn't be when the stickies are there. | when u sit in a classroom, and u point the finger in the air, asking the teacher a question, the teacher doesnt look at you with a strange look, and says "its all in the book dear, why dont u have a read"
it just doesnt work that way, if people want information, they more often than not, ASK, for the specific information..
the same rule of human behaviour applies on this very forum as well.. |
