Alright, well for all you techno addicts out there, I want you to experience what I experienced last weekend. I know it isn't quite the same but at least I can help bring the music to you :)

Awakenings is a name which is undoubtedly connected to techno in W-Europe. It's a name that's a synonym for quality techno parties which featured the finest dj's and live acts in the world.
Whether you've just joined in, or have been part of the scene in Holland for the last 10 years, Monumental and their Awakenings parties are household names for techno lovers all throughout Holland and Belgium. Starting off with their parties in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam back in '95 (which have achieved legendary status by now) they have been largely responsible for the growth of techno all thoughout Holland.
Since that time they have organized parties every two months, first in the Westergasfabriek, from 2000 on in the Now&Wow in Rotterdam and since last year in the NDSM warehouse back in Amsterdam (and now are held at Gashouder). During that time they've brought many DJ's to Holland that were until then largely unknown and had never played in Holland, and have surprised over and over again with their unexpected and innovative line-ups, with all styles of techno coming by.
