This Christmas weekend I went through something horrible that I wish non of you have to go through. Christmas Eve, I almost lost my sight (vision). :( Here's how it happened.

As many of you know, I was in Mexico this weekend. When I got there Saturday night, my eyes began hurting. I didn't think nothing of it, until it wouldn't leave me alone. They began itching, and they turned bloody red. Tears kept coming out of my eyes, not because I was crying, but because there was something wrong with them. Then all of the sudden my vision got really blurry, I began seeing cloudy, and before you know it, all I could see was white. I still didn't think anything of it. I thought my eyes had gotten irritated because of all the fireworks smoke I was around.

Anyhow, I went to sleep and when I woke up Sunday morning, I couldn't open my eyes. My eyes were sealed from tear residue, they dried and got sticky. I had to painfully force my eyes to open with my hands. Throught out Sunday, my vision would go from blurry and foggy to normal. My eyes got really sensative to light. Everything seemed too bright, and it would hurt me. I had to wear sunglasses.

Monday morning comes. At about 9am this morning and I finally decided I couldn't take it anymore and decided to go see a Mexican doctor. I was waiting to return home so I can go see my personal doctor, but I couldn't wait any longer. After waiting for a while at the doctors office, he inspected my eyes. His results..... SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME IN THE COMPUTER!!!! I didn't even tell him that I work with computers, and right away he knew what was wrong. He gave me medication and told me that if I would've waited a little bit longer, it would've gotten more serious. He also sent me to get more deeper exams done, which I will get done here this week.

I'm getting better now, but please guys... TAKE CARE OF YOUR VISION. I know I learned my lesson. Not being able to see sucks. :( It felt horrible and I hope none of you would have to go throught this EVER. As a result, I won't be spending much time on the computer now, except for work.

DON'T TAKE YOUR VISION FORGRANTED. TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES!!!!

dude that must have been a in scare. i know that feeling bro. when i was 5 i had an accident where i got glass in my eye and it sliced the pupil. i had surgery...got stitches inside my eye and had to wear a patch over it for 6 months. ever since then i have been legally blind in that eye and the vision in my other eye has been affected from the strain that was caused. i know how it feels to not take vision for granted. i am glad to hear you are ok bro. no more computer nigga! haha

When I was in the accident where I almost died when I was young, I got nerve damage to one of my eyes. My vision is 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other, but becaus eof the nerve damage I am still technically supposed to wear glasses and I don't.

As a result, I do get migraines from nerve strains and I even do go through periods where I'll have cloudy vision (and it literally looks like a cloud has formed right on your eye) temporarely, but it has never lasted more than about 5-10 seconds at a time...luckily.

Hopefully I don't ever get any worse problems...cause I'd freak out in a very bad way.

the fact that you got this information from a MEXICAN doctor...loses all credibility...

Wow that is really scary sweetie!
Thanks for sharing your story.

When my head starts hurting when I am on the computer I take a very long break. That tells me I have been at the thing to long.

At least you are ok and can see again!!!

Damn that's horrible. To be honest though, I think the computer might have a little to do with it, but it's most likely something else. Maybe an infection, or a form of pink eye.

I'm sorry, but there are millions of people who work on computers ALL day at work, then come home and go online even longer (including me). I work on a computer for 9 hours a day, then when I come home, I go online, check emails, listen to music, post on the boards, chat, etc..... and you don't see my eyes turning blood red and foggy. Being on computers all day might cause severe headaches/migranes.... back aches.... stuff like that, but not what you described.

Go get a proper exam and see what's REALLY going on with your eyes.

I hope you feel better! I worry about you! :sadgreen:

Computers might have had something to do with it, but Julia could very well be right. All the symptoms you said can happen when you have Pink Eye.

Then again, everyone eyes react differently to long exposure of computer monitors....and just because 99% of other people don't have issues when staring at computer monitors hours per day every day of the weekend doesn't mean you won't either.

Good to hear things worked out, but like the others have said, I think you should get your eyes checked out again SOON. That sounded pretty serious! In the meantime, stay off the computer and rest up for NYE!

too much porn foo. jk

Computers may cause your eyes to get alittle red at times and may even give you headaches, but NO WAY on this Earth could computers do what happened to you Woody.

I used to always have problems with my eyes in my younger days (mocosa) where I was always ending up at the doctors. I've had all kinds of drops to ointments perscribed for my eye problems. When your eyes have discharge and you end up with really red and itchy eyes, that's definite an infection.

Remember to ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS!

BTW.... Can you see me now?

Hope you much better! :thepirate
