Armin absolutely killed it...incredible energy all thru the night...Remy was solid and Interstate was 'okay' but Armin totally made the night....3 hours of non stop bangin tunes....its 3am so time for room service and serious sleep..haven't danced/jumped my ass off like that in a long time...main room was packed and i was sweating balls....armin was totally into the set and working the crowd....great atmosphere and great vibe in the club, imo. Advanced, Tracking Treasure Down, Strange World 2006 were the highlights for me...stayed for Rank 1's first tune, Breathing (Breaks Dub) but we were just too worn out...that and we'll being doing part 2 in SF tomorrow....
anyways review later

eh it wasnt all it was cracked up to be, armins spun a awesome set though dont get me wrong...the people there were jsut a bunch of s though..(cept for the TA's of course)
everyone eles: "lets try to get the other people as excited about this as we are by continually dancing into them and then smiling at them, that spreads energy!"
meanwhile im thinking "why the is this person elbowing me all the ING TIME, HELLO, YOU ARE RUINING THE SHOW FOR ME"
and on an unrealated note...
i met boomer! first time in like 4 years of posting with him! woot! |

yeah there were a few washing machines (but not many where i was at) and a couple people shoving their way to the front where we were at but i didnt let them distract me or be a downer on my night...i thought armins set was sooo on point and full of energy that i blocked the shovers out and focused on the music....overall great experience |

Only 1 Sander van Doorn track tonight??? LOL
I think I heard a total of 5 tracks from his set: Escape, Incognition, Linking People, Shivers, and TTD as previously mentioned. Not bad at all... if that was representative of what he played.
Didn't I predict that Rank 1 would play Breathing (breaks dub)?! Hope Piet enjoyed his Bailey's on me :thepirate And yes, "dreamy" trance is solely what I'm all about, Mr. "Airwave" :p
BTW, arrived at 21:05 and had absolutely no problem finding street parking on McFadden just south of Santa Monica, and walked right in with no line whatsoever :D Then kept busy spread over the long wall couch-like thing across from the cantina (smells yummy :toothless) for almost 2 hours with Sudokus :)
Number of people who commented that it was too packed to enjoy the music? Too many to count :wtf:
Funniest moment of the night: when Armin's friend from Armada introduced me to Remy and told him that I didn't like his productions :stongue: which is true!
Best moment of the night: hanging out with ColleenKelly and Julio (and others like Matt Cerf) in the green room... "OMG, it's Philippe, everyone!" (still echoing in my head) OK, so those videos won't get posted on the net, right guys? :nervous: But what was up with kicking everyone out of there so early? :whip: Did Tiësto really rent it for the rest of the night? :disbelief The head security guard wouldn't say :( Any Tijs sightings at Circus
Although, I have to say, Miss Rita was the goddess of the night :eyes: Mike, you LSOB  Thanks for everything, sexy birthday boy
What can I say? I LOVE INTERSTATE! Thanks to gypsygirl for rocking to their set with me; so glad you could make it! (Oh, and sorry for bugging you again about the T-shirts, Mark :o)
And last but anything but least, very special thanks to my very special neighbor technofriik who made it possible for me to enjoy this night to such an extent despite everything else. Yes, I trust you... and more ;) |

okay so were posting our reviews here....... all i have to say is that thank God rank 1 was spinning at the end of the night b/c i was so bored during armins set, sorry everyone, i know i'm gonna get from others on the boards but i'm sorry i was, i just didn't feel it tonight. i thought rank 1 killed it though.
maybe my taste is changing, maybe i was just drunk, maybe rank 1 was just that great, who knows, this is just my opinoin but isn't that what these boards are about, to express our opinions of the djs? remy was good but way too mellow for me, he set armin up nicely though and then interstate was totally rocking out and philippe it was so much fun dancing with you during their set! collen was totally singing to you for most of her part!
love mark lewis!!!!!!! can't wait for march 11 when he's spinning in the main room. then armin came on and there were way too many people up front but that's okay b/c i already knew i was gonna hang out on the sides and back. he did drop marco v's false light, very nice!!!!! love that track. as reported above the tracks he spun were pretty normal for his set. he seemed to really be enjoying himself up there and that is always nice to see, i love that djs enjoy what they do and interact with the crowd! armin is one of the best at that.
then rank 1 came on and that's when i started dancing!!! every track one after the other was just amazing. dark angel, so much fun with you up front. i loved that you would call the song before he dropped it. very cool, wish i could id even a few songs but oh well. i have to say that rank 1 was for me, imo, the very best of the night and i have never seen that many people at the end of a night at spundae since i've been going there. the place was still packed up until the last beat and everyone was going crazy until after 4 am. such a great crowd and vibe. even though it was crazy packed the people were awsome. i saw so many people, matt cerf and his girl, so great seeing and hanging out with you guys, can't wait for march 11! brett, bob, michelle(as always), kris, mike, thrax, carrie, dark angel, in2musik(nice to finally meet you), sebby: you f#*king rule and were the highlight of my night!!!!!!! mischief, always a pleasure, crystil, dan, lisa, jules, robert, riia, boomer and his girl, leeann, kristina, and i'm sure i'm forgetting tons others but i had such a great time with everyone. the TA's make the outings just that much better!
sorry we didn't make it to after hours, i know, i suck, sorry mike, i really wanted to hear your set, but i didn't have enough gas to drive out to santa monica and i have $20 until wednesday so gas is pretty important right now. and sorry tigo, we were gonna stop by but things just got crazy and we just came home. i know boring but hey i'm old
spundae, the happiest club on the planet! my favorite! again, great night, sorry i didn't feel armins set folks but hey, i know tons others did. |

i think it was a great night, i left before rank 1 even touched the decks because everybody was pushing me i felt i was gonna smack somebody. music was great, but it was so packed that i couldn't dance so what is the point really? the only thing i could do was jump and put my hands up high. all i saw was digi cams and flash everywhere poor armin like back the up people. i think dj's as popular as him need to spin on bigger venues with much more space so people like me can dance like in a huge warehouse or something. i want to go see marco v but i don't know if that crowded no chance i am going.
cheers. |

| armin delivered as usual but as always playing tracks hammered by everyone else: false light, advanced, escape...I think this is one area where PVD and Tiesto still have the edge over van buuren, they seem to play more unknown tunes,,nothing wrong with playing the usual hits but one of the main reasons I got to these events is to listen to new stuff and most of the stuff I heard was easy recognizable, still pretty good set though,,,and then he played shivers and the people loved it, I cant stand that tune but it was kind of cool hearing the crowd sing the cheesy lyrics. Rank1 was sick, I wish next time they bring their live act, pretty good night overall |
