Don't know if i should be pissed off at how much it might cost to replace or confused at how the this happened.

Just driving down the M2 Highway this afternoon listening to some trance being pumped, and all of a sudden which i wasn't expecting anything to happen, i hear a BOOM! I actually thought something happened to the car next to me but it took a few seconds to realise my window just blew into bits, luckily the tint on the windows held the square pieces in place.

I think it might be due to the new speakers i had gotten and now i tell my self, whats the use of the speakers if you can even listen to anything blowing up LOLOL!, , ing disappointed.

end rant.

Unfortunetly i haven't got a camera to take any pictures. Just picture a car window broken into shreds.

To be honest, if it wasn't the speakers then don't know what it could be. As soon as it blew i pulled on the side of the highway and u can see if was pushed outwards, so some kind of force in the car pushed it out.

The window next to the driver, which is our front right window.

It didn't even crack slowly, it just happened in less than a second, pretty scary.

and wtf is a sparker?

The window in a car can easily be replaced. Youll have to tint the new window (and probably all the windows while you're at it), but all you have to do is remove the door trim, remove the window, and replace. It's a fairly easy job on most cars.

I rang a fairly good glass company who give a lifetime warranty and they said it will cost 350 dollars including the window and installation and a extra 75 dollars just for the tint.

Pretty steep prices.

Might ask for a seperate glass, because when my friend installed my speakers for me, we had to remove the door trim. If i get a new glass, its just the same process then??

I heard about these things. Its god's way of telling you that he hates you. Nothing much you can do really. He'll either do it again or strike you down with great vengance and fury of anger. Might as well save your money and just get struck down.

Yes, you remove the trim and unbolt the window and mechanism that makes it go up (depending on whether you have hand crank or power windows). If your car isn't brand new, I recommend finding a junkyard and trying to recover your window there. Youll pay about 25 bucks for it and, as I said, it's easy to put in. As for tint, I'venever done it, so I cant say how hard it is. What type of car is this?

Maybe your friend messed up the window when he was removing the door trim? :conf:

Holden Commodore VX, i googled this picture but its the same car though this one is SS and mine is normal. SS is just the V8 versions.

Mine is also black.

FuzzyChicken, nah i doubt it, because when you remove the door trim, there was a plastic covering the glass area i believe. We just worked on the top area.

It's funny, cause everyone in my family thinks i did this on purpose :o cause they dont believe the window would just blow up, but thats what happened :o

I doubt a rock would hit the window, cause it wouldn't break severely, it will just make a mark on the window and since the window looked like it was broken from in to out, i doubt that was true.

Another theory i believe was, you know spark plugs, when you break them, there is some kind of white rock looking thing in them, if u throw this little thing at any window, it will shatter to pieces, problem is i doubt it was that cause i was travelling around 90 and that spark plug rock is pretty lightweight.
