Personally the only time I like using just the channel faderz is when I'm using rotaries...I ned to fit my mixer with some....

Banging isnt a term I'm too sure I know the EXACT meaning of, but tracks that ripping my butt of a chair and onto the dancefloor are:

Orion - Eternity (Ayla)
JDS - Nine Ways (Darude vs JS16)
Dumonde vs Lange - Memory (Original Vocal)

As you may have guessed, Memory is currently my FAV choon :D

There are only two of Tiesto's tracks that I like: this one and his remix of Sunrise. I'm more into progressive music than the euro-trance that Tiesto usually releases, and I gotta say I am loving this one. Easily one of my favourite tracks at the moment, and, like I inferred before, this has nothing to do with the fact that it has Tiesto's name atached to it, because that's actully something that's working against it rather than for it IMHO.

You guys might also want to check out the Orkidea mixes if you don't think this one is pumping enough as it is, cause they seem to be a bit more, erm, agressive for want of a better word.

Ugh. Try to guess what track I was talking about... :nervous:

It's abit like saying "I know thats your custom but I'm right and your wrong, by the way I've never been there atall but I'll still pass judgement". I personally wouldn't like to tell the people of Iraq ok the man who opressed you has been taken to a court 1000 miles away and is being tried by laws you don't know ohh and you won't get that much information about it, as the trials so far away. Not that I'm attacking what your saying it's an inteligent point, just that in this case justice to the Iraqi people (by Iraqi justice) is the important thing not international law IMHO.

First a short Bio: I've been listening to trance for a couple of years (almost exclusively) but have never looked into the scene at all till I came here, so I have a few questions/comments that I wanted to run by you...

I live in Canada and there is no trance scene at all where I live (Ottawa the capital) so I'm ignorant as to how popular it is in places like europe. What I was wondering is if someone could tell me when trances most popular time was? and just how popular was it then? Like was it ever played on top 40 stations, that kinda thing?

I'm also confused about all the labels for the subgenres of trance (progressive, goa, psy etc.)can anyone give me a quick run down of what they mean?

I'm also wondering what subgenre I listen to the most, i'll name a few tracks that I really like and perhaps you could label each track with a subgenre.. if some of the songs aren't trance then please don't jump on me.

Binary Finary - 98'
Push - Universal Nation
Sholan - Can you feel
Cass and slide - perception
Drax and Scott Mac - The Sun

and one last question... if you had to choose 2 songs to give a friend as his introduction to trance what two songs would you suggest (i'd be leaning towards catchy/accesible tunes to start off with I guess)

anyway thanks for your help
Steve
