GIANT's NYE EVENT CANCELLED! (pg. 4)

Well, I'll tell you what - I went to that event last year and to be honest, I wasn't that all blown away. Especially for the VIP money that I dropped for it. There was supposed to be a VIP party at the top of the Standard Hotel downtown but it never was to be. There were other things which were to have been part of the package but weren't included. And the open bar was quite disorganized.

Guess it turned out to be money well SAVED this year! I wish those people the best of luck in getting their money back, I really do.

I feel bad for the out-of-towners who traveled to LA for this cancelled event. I decided not to go this year because PVD was @ TAO. Also, the past two Giant Village events sucked. The lighting/visuals were always half-ass and the countdowns weren't impressive. There were also a bunch of drunken dumbasses who seemed to attend events not to have fun, but to spoil it for others.
Based on my experiences with Giant Village, the last minute cancellation this year, and my first time at TAO (TAO is incredible), I'm likely never going to a Giant Village event again.

SHOULD I POST IT?? o.O

as if i cared... and who's Jay?... is anyone needing a refund or something.... what kind of omen IS THIS? :wtf:

Anyone can get Dave Dean's contact info if they really wanted it. As for this "Jay" person... sounds like it's someone that got pissed over the cancellation. I know a Jay that pops up time to time on other boards just to instigate crap. :whip:

I don't know how Giant is currently handling the cancellation of the party but in respect to the Groovetickets refund policy, refund inquiries are limited to 5 days within normal event date.

So by Wednesday or Thursday we have to ask back for the refund. But according to Giant's notification, Giant NYE tickets will be honored at a coming party, but if they're not going to post information about that anytime soon people might as well get back the refund and then rebuy a ticket to the remake party if they're so inclined.

Call me a fool but I still want to support Giant since I had a really good time last year w/ Digweed and them bringing him back makes me happy but they need to release some information fast on this supposed make up party, and it better be in the near future and not like June.

Maybe the 2005 NYE 2006 tickets will be honored at the 2006 NYE 2007 Giant Village :conf:

get your refund! what are they going to make you do? send back the ticket? Charge them $12.95 or what ever they charge and send its First Class like they did to me for my Ferry Tix.

Downside of getting a refund is that you don't get the various fees back :( and you presumably have to pay them again when you buy a new ticket for the postponed event...

That said, I would call whomever sold me the ticket and ask what my options are (and would probably end up getting a refund, to be on the safe side) ;)

SO as a promoter do you still have to pay out black eyed peas, digweed and the other performers?? being that they could have made a killing playing anywhere else on NYE???

yup

Information regarding refunds will be released within the next couple of days, as we are working this out with the Giant Village promoters.

Please be patient.

Well, whatever...I had an awesome time at Giant Village last year and I was really hoping to see Digweed again this year. But just didn't work out :(. I think i'm gonna keep my tickets just to see what their makeup event is...
