Such a bummer about the cancellation. Because the Basic Lounge was planned for Casey's, we were able to still go forward with it. Thank god, because it turned out to be one heck of a NYE party!!!!

Hey John Do,

How was Casey's? 'Cause at first they were letting anyone and everyone in and then later on in the evening they were charging $50 to get in (totally insane).

I got there around 9:30pm and the place was packed with a line forming outside. I'm not sure if they were charging cover or not, but the vibe was awesome when I got there. Justin Sloe really warmed up the night perfectly for us. Seriously, everyone seemed to be having such a great time that the cancellation didn't even cross your mind.

Yes, tt's a bummer that the event got cancelled, but I didn't let it bother me. Because, for me at least, NYE is about being with your friends, and that's how it went down for me, and the 499+ other people in Casey's.

I couldn't have asked for a better way to end 2005. Two solid parties at Basic in December, a really great party at Vanguard on 12/30, and a really fun party on NYE with my g/f and 20+ good friends of mine who flew in from all over to celebrate NYE.

That's great that you had a blast. :)
We (over 14 of us) ended up going to a hotel, having dinner and drinks...we had a great time.
