great party to kick off 2006!!!!
W00t OS/2, De Koze, and Dumondeeeeee was aweasome
finally herd for an angel, and age of love! Whaaaat old school!
too bad at around 2 i was going crazy to some song, slipped on some beer, and baaaam CRACKED my foot (i found this out today after xray). So had to sit out most of the night, still had a good time tho =) would love to finish hearing dumonde's set...

My body is so sore right now and I can barely move my legs. I danced all night right to the finally to end. I was dancing with my friend by left side speaker (girl in red hair, tall and wearing jeans).
My highlight of the night was as the beginning of the set I told them that I love the track Memory and it makes me cry. Then close to the end of the night I got to hear it, then I got them to sign my vinyl for Memory. Tomorrow and God Music.
Now I am off to bed.

Wow, I don't even know what to say about the night because it was so good. Everybody that I heard played amazing, especially Dumonde (obviously) plus Deko-Ze, OS/2, and Jelo. I really wanted to be there to hear Andrew (NuEra) and Dennis play, but couldn't get there in time, sorry boys. I even heard some of Mystical Influence, and although it's Jungle which I don't normally like, I enjoyed it too. Vibe was amazing the whole night, everybody was awesome. Thanks everybody for making the start of 2006 a wikkid night.

Natalia, Magda, Monika, Steph: Great having you at my place for the weekend, you guys are welcome any time.

Ivan, Raf, and all thier friends: Glad you guys made it up. Raf you got spoiled for you first party, hope you enjoyed it.

everybody else that I didn't/forgot to mention: thanks for coming out and celebrating the start of 2006. Kicking it off at such a great party must mean it's going to be a good year.

So..
This was probably THE best way to kick off 2006.
I thought the night started off sort of slow, with people not knowing whether they are dancing or standing or puffin or smoking or what.. Then the DJ in the Tides room played For An Angel.. That's when everybody went: "WTF, we're here to dance!!!" I believe that marked the start of a great night -- this was probably around 12:30-ish.
After that, monster choons all night long, especially from Dumonde. These guys had the best crowd interaction ever - they know how to rip it! No doubt in my mind that in that category they beat everyone else I've seen live. Their track selection was great as well. No overplayed tunes, plus I really enjoyed the funky mix of (I think) For an Angel vs Silence.
The crowd at the Docks was good (after the 12:30 thingy). Met a whole bunch of people, took tons of pics, shook lots of hands and gave out lots of hugs. Sasha, thank you for takin those pics.. Now I know how I looked the whole night.. :nervous: No wonder I got hit on by both guys and girls! :D
For those of you curious..
Yeah.. the pink thingy!! :D .. Overall.. one great party.. on par with Rank 1, LoL, and Marco V!
Hope to see all those I've met on Jan 28 at the Guv for Mr. Johan. I will be celebrating my 24th bday then as well ;)

EDIT 1:
* 1 thing that DID suck at the docks was the coat check. That needs to be dealt with.. I can't believe there were people standing in line to drop off coats when it's fringgin midnight on new years day.
EDIT 2:
* what totally turned the night crazy and finished it off with a bang was the crowd going "One more! One more!".. And then Dumonde just giving up and giving us more tunes :D |

oh, i forgot to mention that I would love to have somebody ID the track that The Beat Freakers played at the end of their set. It was right before Tides changed to Jungle. It had a sample of the theme from the first Batman movie, and it was absolutely amazing.
