| I tried searching but i found nothing related. In any event i was looking at the prices for the denon dn s3500 and s5000 and saw that they are, as of this writing, within the same price. I was just wondering which one would you guys pick. Are there any problems with either? also do the extra features on the s5000 make it even worth it? I went to guitar center and don't remember seeing the s5000 so i need some opinions. |

Someone asked the same question @ www.denondjforums.com so one of the guys from Denon said

Ask yourself, will you be using these features in the future: Alpha Track, 4-loops, A-B Splice, 2 Samplers, Mirror Mix, Hot Disc?
If Yes, then Get the S5000

I'd go for the dns3500, this CD player is new to the industry came out only a few months ago so far I've read enough good reviews to consider buying it myself so I am saving up for one now. It's perfect for scratching (direct drive motor) long mixing 0.02 pitch resolution However eventhough it supports MP3 discs it does play mp3 files but the features like stutter and effects do not work with VBR files, people are experiencing some problems with things like the CUE point moves, some mentioned that the track would jump to the beginning during playback, those are serious issues so guys from Denon are aware of them and are developing a software update. Let me know what you decide to buy. |

I'd do the same thing, plus I'd also rather the DNS3500 because it can switch to the same cueing method as the Pioneer CDJs, so it's familiar in nightclubs.
If you want more solid reference for which one to grab, IDJ magazine just did a review of the 3500. check thier website or grab the mag and read the review.
Lately I'm supporting Denon gear because they seem to understand a DJ's needs. I'm currently shopping for the DNX1500 mixer, which for the price is an excellent deal, since I really can't justify myself needing to buy the beloved A&H XOne92 at $2500 CDN +tax. Once I've got the mixer, I'm quite sure I'll grab the DNHP1000 headphones too. |

The dns 5000 also has .02 pitch at 4% with a firmware upgrade.
Some are reporting pretty serious issues with the 3500, you might want to at least wait for a firmware upgrade. |

Why would you do that?
If you're not willing to wait for new firmware then id go dns-5000.
Scratch platter is not as good as dns3500 but better than the cdj1000's, it has loads more features and it's cheaper.
Especially if you can only afford one, as you can actually mix 2 songs on the same cd using only one player. |
