And they're really good, it's amazing how they take away so much sound yet leave so much still to be heard.
It's weird. I've got two places where i can 'test' them. One being my car, where i've got quite a powerful system installed (DLS R5A's up front running off a Genesis amp 4x70rms roughly and an RE SE 12" sub running from a DLS A3 amp (getting around 750rms))..
Obviously Dj'ing is the other area i'll have to test them (only picked them up an hour ago and still haven't gotten home to my decks)..
Anyway, i'm really impressed with how they do their job but i have a question for anyone else who owns a pair.
Do your ear buds stick out of your ear at all? My left one is pretty snug, you can barely notice it from a front on view (eg if you were looking at my head on) but my right ear bud sticks out a fair bit. Supposidly my ear canal gets quite small at the opening so they had to do this, but it's annoying as it's obviously visible.
Just wondered if i should go back to the ear doc and get him to maybe take a second mould of my right ear, or is this normal? Just wondering as i paid so much for them :)
Thanks

i didnt think the custom moulded ones should protrude from the ear. if one is ok then the other isnt done properly maybe?

That's what i thought, i'm gonna try them on with my new cans this weekend and see how it fits.
I was just trying to find out from people on here who have had them done whether theirs stuck out at all?
Now by stuck out i mean a few mill, around 3-4, which is noticeable however. The Doc said something about my right ear canal being that little bit narrower than my left one, hence the ear bud had to stick out a little more. For some reason i think he was bullting a little.
Hence why i'm asking you lads :)

Custom should do what they say on the tin, customized to your own specifications. Explain the situation and say the fitting is troubling you and you should get a free replacement.

I'm gonna give them a call on monday, letting them know i'm not happy with the right ear.
The left one is fine, you can't notice it when speaking to me face to face. The right one however is blatantly obvious.
I paid 250 euro for them.
They drop the volume considerably! yet you can still hear people really well. It's an odd feeling.
Only thing i sometimes wonder is whether i'll just be pushing my earphones etc more to be able to hear them louder lol.. but then i'll be protecting my ears as the highest volume wont come close to hurting my ears.

Personally if i was going to the trouble of ear protection, id go one better and just not listen to loud music. Why bother about your ears ?? you only go deaf in time and die in the end anyways. Id rather spend the money on other things. Life's to short to go worrying about things like that dude

You my friend, are an idiot..
No offense, but you don't know what you're talking about if you're making comments like the one above.

Hence why i said personally i wouldnt bother with them, where as you have bothered with them, nothing wrong with that, i just made my opinion and views known. Doesnt make either of us right nor wrong.

no i know what you're saying, but sometimes it's easier to want to give something up then it is to actually give it up.
By this i mean, music. More specifically, playing it loud. I find i have little control on how loud i play the music as when i'm in the 'mood' and getting into things i tend to turn it up a little bit. Before i got these ear plugs i always found myself going " it's too loud"
A slight dose of tinnitus will make you realise that not being able to hear silence ever again is a horrible thing.
Plus my hearing means a lot to me, and i'm hoping with the precautions i'm taking at this young age (22) i'll be able to hear things when you might not be able to. Being deaf/hard of hearing isn't fun..
Think about it, they have correctional surgery for a lot of your body, your ears are one of the more difficult things to fix.
A movie actually got me thinking seriously about all of this actually (funnily enough) 'It's all gone Pete Tong' Dunno if you've seen it?
I do know what you're saying though, but think you're being a bit naive..
Again that's only MY opinion.

Thing is im partially deaf in my right ear, and because of the shape of my ear canal even if i wanted to i cant wear ear protection / inner ear headphones. And yes i know what its like to go deaf, everytime i get a cold and my sinuses swell up i lose all hearing in my right ear, also making it hard for me to keep my balance. Had grommmets fitted to try and help, never worked tho :(
Its never stopped me playing music loud, i just wanna enjoy it all whilst i can |

Sorry mate, but if you suffer from the above... how can you be making comments about me spending a small amount (in my opinion for something so important) on my hearing.
Surely you of all people would understand? Just doesn't make sense..
Dunno if others would agree or not but i find it odd that you wouldn't want to take care of the other ear.
Sorry to hear that you suffer from the canal problem etc, obviously you have experience so but i'm just even more surprised by what you're saying so.
