The torture scene where they show a drill being taken to a guys thighs and then a knife to his achillies is where i found it the hardest to watch. It was more gruesome than scary, you dont really feel much sympathy for the characters its just that you would hate for that to happen to you. I didnt feel sad that any of the main characters were hurt or killed.

Just take lots of bubble gum to give to the 10 year old gangsters and dont be lured to slovakia under the premise of sex with hot russian/italians who speak czech.

This has got to be one of the tiest things ever to be called "film" thereby demeaning the genre. It's not scary, it's not even really gross (i found most of the gore quite unrealistic). First half is a teen movie with a lot of boobs being flashed, second half is a bunch of guys getting tortured. he boob-flashes in the first half kept me awake, the second half was unbearably boring.

What's the gore factor? Hellraiser- or Night Of The Living Dead-like?

it's seems like it tries to be intense with throat cutting, chainsaws and dismemberment. It was definently gory but definently not seriously disturbing like the Syringe scene in Saw 2

Yeah true that. I found the stuff in the "Saw" movies more disturbing than those in Hostel.

That scene was rough to watch, definetly one of the more ed up things i've ever seen in a horror movie.
