I can't believe this thread has got to FOUR PAGES and no one's wet themselves yet over Delerium - Silence (Tiesto mix, obviously) ... that sort-of breakdown, the bit where Sarah is singing, " in this siiiillllleeeennnncccceeee" and she sounds like her heart is just breaking ... oh god ... that bit just sends 65 million centipedes rushing up and down my spine :D :D :D

OOHHH and what about the last few seconds of the breakdown in 'Pearl River' ... if I ever get to hear that on a big system I will DIE ... aaahhhh bliss :p

The part where all of the bass fades out and you're left with these synths that are so melodic and dreamy. What especially tips me off is the trumpet-like synth that comes in torwards the end of the melodic stuff. It hits 3 notes and I nearly shiver everytime I hear it.

I can't believe PsycoEwok is the only person to mention this:eyes: :eyes: :eyes: This is one of two songs that had me in literal tears of joy from listening. I've had watery eyes over songs, but this song brought a stream of tears. Nice one PsycoEwok!!;)

There is one thing I can't stand about this song though..... I CAN'T FRICKIN FIND THE BLOODY VINYL ANYWHERE!!!!

xenderz
airheadz - stanley (wippenberg remix)

after the vocal part where the beat kicks in ..

Right here comes my lot!

Any trance made by a half decent producer will have a great breakdown. (e.g Armin, Tiesto, Corsten, PvD, DUmonde etc, etc)

But tunes that stick out inmy mind are:

Gouryella - Gouryella . Goes quiet then gets more energetic and louder. BlisS!
System F - Out of The Blue (5AM Mix) The little keyboard bit that builds up and the 4 cymbla clashes then into the climax! :eyes:
Major League - Wonder Where You Are. The main bit, with the sparkly, light synth, then it leads into the main tune, and the gorgeous strings. THen it builds up and u can hear the "woosh" noises. ARGHH!
Sarah McLachlan - Sweet Surrender (Tiesto Mix). The bit where she's singing, and the absolutely incredible strings! Pity about the rest of the tune tho!
Ayumi Hamasaki - Trauma (Dumonde Remix). ITs so energetic, that when it reaches the climax, it makes me want to jump up and down.
Ferry Corsten Remixes of Adagio for Strings, Arms of Loren, Catch. All have great breakdowns.

AND my personal fave is definately Silence (Tiesto remix) A long euphric breakdown, that creates aural pleasure thoughout your body, and then it peaks...   :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :D :D :D :)

how about the...

two MINUTE buildup in Second Sun - Empire...

and even though the Pulser remix of The Eternal is cool, nothing beats the breakdown in the original mix...

lets not forget the buildup in Billie Ray Martin - Honey (Chicane Mix)

can anyone say FULL BODY CHILLS? ;)
eXeTik
there are SO many of them, honestly... I can't even count the number of times i was walking down the street with my MiniDisc listening to this Amazing buildup... Don't you just love Trance? ;)

Anyway- first tunes that pop into my mind are:

Yahel- Voyage
Delerium - Silence (Tiesto Mix)

:eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
gOuRYeLLa~!
gouryella - gouryella
gouryella - wahalla

veracocha - carte blanche

wonderful, beautiful, emotional songs :eyes:

heh...I got that rekkid for my gf a while ago...:)
(one of the few times HTFR has actually come through)

Anyways...for my list...
Hybrid - High Life (Live Version) ~ When you hear the voice echoing around, and you hear that old bt-ish beat being brought in from the background around the 5 minute mark...

Push - Universal Nation (Ferry Corsten Remix) ~ When Tiësto dropped this at Innercity...sooooo much energy it's insane!!! I think you all know exactly what part I'm talking about too...

Fire & Ice - Out of the Darkness ~ While we're on the topic of Innercity...there's my vote for the best song that's been overlooked by far too many people...a classic!

Binary Finary - 2000 (Dumonde Remix) ~ When the beat drops out...and all you hear are the bass drums pounding far off in the back....oh my...:)

Underworld - Pearls Girl ~ When you hear the more sinister beat start to get overtaken at about 4:26...the vocals and everything are just perfect.

Arksun - Astrodancer (Starecase Remix) ~ That last "push" in the song...it's the perfect thing to end a set with too...

Anyways...I'm babbling...:D
