Dear TOTA Diary,
I just leased a new office, which pretty much requires me to buy some new computer equipment. Oh boy :) Yea, so a good minute after realizing that, i figured that my existing home system (Athlon 1400, ugh) will do just fine at the office, meaning that the new system intended for the office can go... you guessed it, straight into my bedroom :)
Haha, i'm as excited as a schoolgirl right now! I haven't played video games in over a year (see above system specs for a detailed explanation as to why), and being the die-hard fan of games based on id's Software's tech (Doom, Quake, Half-Life) that i am, i've been DYING to give DOOM III and HL2 a shot. Finally, i can do just that :)
Anyway, i haven't decided on the system yet, but i sure as hell have on the display. DELL 2450FPW :eek: Best part? It can be had on eBay for around $1,000 including shipping. And it's tax deductible. So my final cost is under $700. I love this country :)

P.S. Any suggestions for a good system to buy off eBay? Something in the 3GHz range with 1GB 533 and a kickass video card. |

Good luck with Dell's tech support, or the distinct lack thereof.
I'm very upset that I paid $850 for my 17" LCD just 16 months ago and you're grabbing a rad 24" with vastly superior specs for less coin. It makes me all warm inside.

yeah, I can research the specs myself, but anyone have opinions/experience with Dell's LCD TVs?
I'm seriously considering picking up Dell's 37" LCD...but also looking at a Samsung 32" or 37" LCD (since I too *love* my Samsung 17" flat panel monitor and know they're of great quality). |

d!abolics. His actually looks a little wider but the new ones we just got are from Dell and the monitor looks EXACTLY the same. (Except it's a tad wider. :)) |
