What the black people of America endured was a lot different then what gays endure in modern society. I am against discrimination of any race, sexual preference, handicap, etc etc. But I believe that gays have a million fold more rights and freedoms than the blacks did back in the day.
Point being, gays (at least in Canada) live like every other person. They can sit where they want, drink from whatever founting, and they do not have to worry about being discriminated against.
|
Blacks and gays have both been dragged, hung, and murdered for doing nothing wrong. The only difference is that it's been more prevalent amongst gays recently compared to blacks. Also, gays don't have any law protecting them fully under the constitution where blacks do.
Do you not read about murders against gays & transgenders, and beatings and harassment that still go on in school & military? No, because you live in Canada, not the US. Modern society in Toronto, Canada, is more forward thinking when it comes to gay rights than the majority of the states in the US. Try flirting with a guy in Nebraska, or just being your gay self in Wyoming. You'll get your ass kicked. Gays still have to worry about homophobic dumbs who are everywhere in the US.
Lastly, if gays have more freedom now than blacks did 200...or even 50 years ago, what justification is that to not let them have full rights now? For that matter, you can justify against any form of civil rights if you compare it to "back then." Since women have more rights than blacks did 200 years ago, does that mean they no longer need the right to vote? With your logic, sure.

So you still admit it's an issue?!
So if you admit it's an issue, why shouldn't it be taken care of when it is in fact extreamly easy to fix?!
The only ing problem with gay marriage is ppl like you when you oppose it, without the right wing Christian/Conservative debate, we wouldn't have had even a debate about this issue lately, but now they/you are making a hell of a fuss about it! It's a right they should have, and you admit they should too, except at the same time you think they shouldn't. To me you make no ing sense whatsoing ever! :conf: |

Anyway,
for those guys out there who are hesitating, I still recommend to go see it: it's not just about two gay guys. Moreover, if I can watch all those god damn bloody straight movies where men are kissing women, then I think y'all can muster up the courage to watch two guys gettin giggity giggity with each other for once (p.s. there's boobs in the movie...yes, women titties). |
You misunderstand, it's not that I can't take two guys getting "giggity giggity" with each other. It's that I can't dream up worse cinecma than another film that's an imitation of the ya ya sisterhood. As a matter of fact it would be discriminatory for me to regard bareback mountain as anything other than a ty chickflick ... make sense? |

Fair enough. You shall pass. Although this has nothing to do with ya ya sisterhood. It's more along the lines of a secret romance in fear of death beatings. So you have fluffy lame chicks with wet pussies...or hot and horny, yet scared, gay guys. It's kind of in the same boat, but not really.

Well, gay marriage is important to me. And if I can't marry another dude, then I'll just have to stick my in your mouth until you concede to my demands, canuck. :haha: |

i used to be totally in favour of gay marriage. but then i changed my mind. im still in favour of civil unions that convey the same legal ramifications that marriage does, however i like the idea of keeping the institution of marriage for heterosexuals only. its how we can celebrate our sexuality as heteros. if gays are so concerned with difference, and cant help but celebrate what they wish to do with their genitals, then i say we match it with them to prove a point on just how pointless the celebration of sexual preference is. |
