It's all about house !
house>trance

I think that in order for Trance to make any real progress the "big boys" will need to be pulled from their lofty perches first. IMO people like PvD, Fiesto, and Jokenfold are dead. In fact the only top 10 Trance DJ's that I would keep ATM would be Ferry and Armin, the rest need to go away.
Seeing how none of those guys are gonna just step aside and give up the boatloads of cash they are pulling in tho, will continue to drag along like it has been for the past few years.

Hmm. And what about the Thrillseekers? Seems a little hit or miss, but if it's a hit, I think it will be a good one. Steve H. does some very good singles imo, but I'm not so sure about the mixing abilities. Some mixes are good really, but others are kinda gay. (The one in the livesets for download for example). Somebody to keep an eye on I guess.

Menno De Jong, also I think has potential! Don't know who else.

Maybe DJ Sammy and DHT will make lots of people discover "trance" but then they will discover real trance. All of those people will eventually become true TA's and then demand quality and nooooo more pviestofold!!!

oh also watch Matt Hardwick and Robert Gitelman! Their sets and mixes are consistently pleasing.

well the latest Thrillseekers was a really crap tune and I haven't heard Steve do anything spectacular since Affinity so unfortunatly I can't agree with you on that.

As I said, very hit or miss sadly. Indeed there seems to be a bad streak right now...Synaesthesia 2005 is the latest track of his to be good imo, but sadly the 2004 better, so I can't say there's progress happening!

Hopefully it will, though...

well there still are other good producers who are releasing some great stuff in a constant flow. they are the ones to keep an eye out for :-)

ah well I must go and discover them then!!!

Both Lange and Steve Helstrip have been making garbage in the past two years compared with their production before then. It's actually really sad, because they were good producers.

Sorry to ask but, if possible, would like to know that list of producers.

Blue Planet Corporation
