thezeromovement = coke subliminal advertising

Curiosity got to me after seeing all these ads around melb central and all over the city for thezeromovement.com

Its the ads with all the things saying like "why dont relationships come with a gap year", "why cant the boss have a mute button", "why cant big nights come with zero morning afters". But I have a revelation to share :P

Listening to their mp3 movement transmission there was a line towards the end saying "who says you cant have real taste and zero sugar". Of course it must be coke zero, theyre doing all this damn subliminal advertising for zero ie. "what the world needs is a whole lot more zero" etc. The website is also the same colour scheme as the bottle. I posted a reply on the site to their manifesto but they get reviewed and I doubt mine will ever get posted :(

Bloody shocking imo, clever advertising but still lower than low. This is getting worse.

Whatever happened to that weird spy thing a few years back in Melbourne or Sydney where people signed up to some website and were recruited to do stuff like take a briefcase from one place to another for no apparent reason?

There was a thread here about that.

Dunno why, but reading about this made me think of that.

lol I think the initial taste is better than diet, but you still get that dirty chemical-fake-sugar after taste :mad:

Give me real coke any day, full sugar power!

Yeah it just dont taste the same as normal coke, sorta reminds me of a bit dr peppery or something, it just aint the same :(
Love the changed billboard hehe, gonna have to try that around here. Wish there was some way to advertise that it's coke.

I wonder if people will start saying theyll live their lives like the website says, and then being like "more zero" then they see coke zero, wonder how itll work out.

Didnt hear about that spy thing trance nutter, would love to read more about it. Some marketing agency earnt a few cookies for this i bet.

just coz im an anal piece of (no pun intended) technically this isnt subliminal advertising; subliminal is all about stuff thats projected straight into your subconscious via sneaky image/sound techniques.

my mate signed up for that, then realised it sounded like too much work. i forget the name of the company otherwise id post the link. sounded like it was for bored public servants to me...

why is it low?

it's not really subliminal - just very subtle.

I think it's an awesome campaign. At least Coke is fostering interesting, innovative and progressive communication rather than resorting to the same "bash you over the head with our product" approach that is both as boring as it is annoying sometimes.

Think this is the one I was thinking of
