That is sikkk but Mavericks has yet to start firing off...mid November early December is when the Pacific start to swell, most likly that the winner of this thing comes from San Fran or Whayama( sp). |

i thought the contest was who could paddle into the biggest wave. Otherwise, the winner would probably come from a wave at Jaws off of maui. |

if you guys are in nyc and interested, one of my friends from fordham is a pro surfer but lives permanently in Brooklyn. When she is home, she teaches surfing lessons in LI to get people started (3-5 foot waves) before they head off to places with much larger waves. |
