what style is the music? hard to describe. its basically trip hop beats over classical compositions. but theres alot more to it.

here we go, the question that I dread the answer to....

is clubbed to death a remake of an old piece?

Furious Angels is definitely one of the best albums I own. Rob Dougan's voice takes some getting used to, not least because it's unusual but also because he really does go all out with his vocal performances. And I mean all out!

If that puts you off, and I hope it doesn't, then you'll be glad to know that, providing you get the 2xCD version, the second disc features only instrumental versions. But even without it, I really couldn't recommend this album enough. It's an understated masterpiece, and I'm delighted to learn that there will be a follow-up released this year.

EDIT: I believe that not just 'Clubbed to Death', but everything on the album is Rob Dougan's. The credits appear to mention that some tracks are inspired by other pieces, but that's all.

It's strictly mediocre. Overrated, boring breakbeats and stuff. Some classical touches.

Some classical touches? Did you even listen to the album?

The intro to Clubbed to Death samples Elgar, but I think the rest of it is Dougan's work.

And we had a thread on this a few days ago.
