I know, man. And I'm sorry for coming off like a jerk, but it seemed like that was one of the only ways to get some people's attention. I think it worked, though as I've had to clean out my PM box twice in the last two days and it looked to be about a 4/3 ratio of positive to negative responses. Killing people with kindness has never gotten me even close to that same level of feedback.
And hey, at least I pursuaded some of you to think about something that you would have otherwise been fully or partially oblivious to. Considering that was my initial goal, I'm quite happy with the results. |

I'm tired of you berating everyone on this board with your supposed genius, and gripe against the government and world in general. I have a chemical engineering degree from an ivy league university, yet i rarely ever mention it, or feel the need to try and make others feel inadequate (i'm just happy i was fortunate enough to get an education). If you're trying to make a difference in this country, i hate to say you picked the wrong major. your english/history/politics or whatever liberal arts degree you have won't get you anywhere, considering the way you handle yourself. Don't you know that all your whining and complaining and even letters to a congressman will not do anything?
The chances of me becoming ceo of the large, global, pharma company i work for, and sending lobbyists to washington to pay politicians and sway votes, are infinitely greater than the hope of any of your letters ever making a difference. Money and big business run this country now; its sad, but true. Doesn't it suck that all of your years of studying the government and language won't do anything (except allow you to argue with people on this board), while me and my just-enough-to-get-by knowledge of politics have a good chance to make a difference, because business holds so much power? I know you enjoy arguing, and using big words, and making yourself feel important, and thinking that your debates will spur some huge movement in society. Money and power sadly rule this country, and even more sadly, i doubt you will ever have either.
This will be my only post in this thread. I simply felt someone needed to put you in your place. |
