When network television becomes so corrupted that a man bobbing for cow feces in a bucket of pig blood for 50,000 dollars seems tame.

Although not religious at all, I was in a discussion when drunk with my future-sister in law & something kinda creeped me about a theory (her family are catholic) that has been written by St. Malachy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes

to quote some extra info on him

quote:
He was also known as Maolmhaodhog ua Morgair; Maol Maedoc; and Malachy O'Morgair.

Born -1094 at Armagh, Ireland. Died November 2, 1148 at Clairvaux

Canonized - 1190 by Pope Clement III; first papal canonization of an Irish saint

Malachy replaced the Celtic liturgy (the "Stowe" missal) with the Roman liturgy in an effort to bring uniformity and discipline to the clergy and those in religious life. A miracle worker and healer, he sometimes cured people instantly by laying his hands upon them. Friend of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux who helped him establish the Cistercans in Ireland, wrote a biography of him, and sat with him as he died.

One of Malachy's great claims to popular fame was his gift of prophesy. While in Rome in 1139 he received a vision showing him all the Popes from his day to the end of time. He wrote poetic descriptions of each of the pontiffs, presented the manuscript to Pope Innocent II - and it was forgotten until 1590. It has been in print - and hotly debated, both authenticity and correctness - ever since. According to these prophecies, there are only two Popes remaining after John Paul II.

St. Malachy was reported to have possessed the powers of levitation, healing, and clairvoyance. While on his way to the Vatican to assume the post of papal legate for Ireland, he fell into trance and saw a line of papal reigns stretching from the successor to Innocent II and extending through centuries to the last of the line, identified as Peter of Rome. Malachy assigned short descriptions in Latin to each pope when he committed his vision to paper. These mottoes usually refer to a family name, birthplace, coat-of-arms, or office held before election to the papacy. Some of the phrases are multiple prophecies, written with ingenious word play. For example, Pius II, who reigned for only 26 days in 1503, was aptly described as "De Parvo Homine" (from a little man). His family name was Piccolomini, Italian for "little man."

Sometimes the personal history of the pope plays a part in the motto given by Malachy. Clement XIII (1758-69), who had conenctions with the government of the Italian state of Umbria and whose emblem was a rose, was called by Malachy Rosa Umbriae, the "Rose of Umbria."

The passage of time has proved doubters of St. Malachy wrong, for his prophecies have turned out to be amazingly accurate. He even prophesied the precise date of his own death, and got it right. The prophecies concern the papacy, starting with Pope Celestine II in 1143. In all, 112 popes and their characteristics are listed from 1143 to the "end of the world."

This would be eerily frightening if it happens, whether or not it will, well let's see :p

Well, I certainly hope to be within ground 0 radius if the hits the fan. Don't want to live through slow suffering and the aftermath of this hell. No movie or imagination can ever conceive what would happen thereafter and the humanity as we know it. Those few unlucky souls who do manage to survive through this will spend the rest of their days seing destruction, death, anarchy, and live in constant danger. I doubt the conditions on this planet would be survivable. The fact that many countries have this kind of arsenal is frightning - if there's a bomb, there's a very good chance that at some point someone may use it.

I also cannot imagine the political and economic ramifications of even one nuke being launched. That would not be something ppl would look at lightly. Though, it would be a very very very powerful message. Just one nuke to Teheran... and middle east will get very quiet for the next few decades.

ESPECIALLY the EU. we're on our way to that one world government.

christians would say that the anti-christ is at the head of it, i hope none of this comes to pass, but it probably will.

Political Turmoil
Yes the new world order, aka the illuminati. The government tries to mask it under innocence as you say. Here is a quote from myself regarding this so called globalization:
quote:
Stevieboy32808 Repost #1: New World Order
The report of the "Project for the New America Century: Rebuilding America's Defenses" written September of 2000. It is supported by key members of the Bush administration. The drafting for the report was headed by military members of the cabinet as well as Bush's younger brother Jeb. It states that America is after global leadership, both militarally and economically. It also states that in order for the U.S. to achieve global domination it has to come up with catastrophic events like Pearl Harbor.

Global Warming & Natural Disasters
Although there is no proof for global warming our major bodies of water or the oceans are increasing in tide at a rate of 1 inch/year. This is an indication that something is melting those icecaps. But recall during the end of the Ice Age, there was absolutely no pollution that caused the ice to melt and was deemed as nature taking its course. So global warming could be just nature taking its course again or pollution is to blame. This is still a widely debated issue so I'll stop here.

As far as natural disasters are concerned there are tons of meteors and asteroids passing the earth every day. Some even hit the earth, but disintegrate in the atmosphere. It's going to be a matter of time before the big one hits and annihilates everything in its path and wipe us out like the dinosaurs. On a side note the earth remains alive so to speak as long as the Sun is shining bright. As you know the sun provides energy in the form of heat and if the sun ever flames out all life from in the earth will die. But according to heliologists (people who study the sun) this isn't scheduled to happen for about 5 billion years.

Energy & The India/Chinese Economy
Here is another quote from myself:
quote:
Stevieboy32808 Repost #2: Peak Oil
Oil is going to run out completely in 50 years, 44.6 to be exact.

"The Society of Petroleum Engineers estimates remaining official reserves represent 44.6 more years of oil. But there are many factors, including continual increases in demand and the possibility of new discoveries, that make this merely an educated guess."

If there are no new discoveries, then 50 years it is.
Source:http://www.spe.org/spe/jsp/basic/0,...1109511,00.html

"The energy industry calls this "peak oil," the time when the production capacity of suppliers is completely maxed out."

"But when will "peak oil" occur? Estimates range from the ultra-optimistic (no sooner than 2035) to the bleak (it's imminent or already here). The U.S. Department of Energy, not exactly going out on a limb, estimates world oil production to top out anytime from 2021 to 2112. One factor driving the difference in predictions: Many claim oil nations routinely inflate the amount of their official reserves. So there could actually be considerably less left in the world's tank than is on the books."

China & India are quickly becoming the next big thing on the economic front, but what the U.S. doesn't want is for them to succeed militarily as well. As you may or may not know, only one country can have superpower status. After 2 world wars, we took that title away from the British. With the rise of these countries coinciding with the New World Order report I mentioned earlier it's almost as if the U.S. is afraid of another country taking that title away from us.

EDIT:The above section regarding superpower status and how only country can attain that title is false. There is no limit to how many countries can achieve superpower status.

So anyways, the US and Russia at their height could destroy the earth easily 5-10 times over... Now its probably about 2-3 times for the US and 4-6 times for Russia (they have no money to reduce their arms, both sides want a total of 7500 warheads each, in active and reserve by sometime in the near future, the US is on its way to meet that goal, but Russia basically has no money to do it... :p)

Have you heard the news? A forthcoming RAND study has actually concluded that mutually assured destruction probably doesn't hold anymore, because the precision of the existing US arsenal could destroy the entire Russian nuclear capacity on a first strike.

There's a really good film that depicts the horror of slow death from fallout in suburban San Francisco, Testament. It's more a drama of how society would fall apart in the aftermath of distant nuclear strikes than any sort of flashy depiction of nuclear war. Extremely moving and highly recommended. I still remember it vividly, and wish more people knew about it.
