Well i havent tried the 151's myself.. only the 101's which i dont really like.. so i cant really say much about the 151's..

Denon is probably most famous equipment in Sg.. but maybe you should test it out before you buy

BTW, how much SG$ are you getting the 151's for?

i love my denon digitals m8. they absolutely kick ass...i own the dj151's. love the convenience of them being internally grounded, have kick ass digital output, they look in sweet, and have massive amounts of startup torque. plus they are quartz synthesized....great for home use, but im not sure how reliable they would be on the road. not saying they wouldnt be, its just id pick ma technics over any other table. the denons however are an excellent choice below technics....i highly recommend them.

good luck m8

Gee thanks Lex, that was extremely helpful. Best thing is, they won't cost as much as a pair of Technics would, so I think what you said pretty much made my mind up.

How, then, does a pair of DP DJ151's and a Kam KMX-100 sound to you? I know the mixer's e, but for starters it'll have to do for me I guess.

sounds good....you wont be disappointed w/ the denons, hands down...
they are also electronically eq'ed so you dont have to plug into the phono line of your receiver. you plug directly to the cd line in...i like that feature also

Anyone has any comments about my choice of mixer? It's cheap, and I think it's gonna serve its purpose for a beginner like myself. Has anyone tried the KMX-100 and got stuff to complain?

I wouldnt go for Kam mixers.. they are very low quality and i wouldnt rely on them not to break down after a year. But if you are in that budget range, i think it may be the only mixer available..

Try Numark mixers or stanton mixers if you can

someone was looking for good/cheap TT's so i checked this section of the forum. Someone recommended denon's as being similar to Technics.

I found a deal and managed to buy 2 Denon DPDJ 101's for $199 US dollars each. I think they look nice, even though they are plain looking. And the torque is decent, not great.

However i got the last ones from the store, they no longer sell them.
cheapest mixers i saw were gemini's, i think they were under $100, and my friend has one for several years and hasn't broken or anything yet.
