I know how that small EDM section is. I was surprised that my local Sam Goody actually had a couple Hernan Cattaneo and Zabiela comps. I usually go to amazon for my purchases.
I guess I can understand your buying of livesets considering your internet connection.. but try to get a decent connection cause those bitches are easy to find as I'm sure you already know. |

Before the internet and CD burners were really huge and everyone had high speed connections, I used to do this with concert bootlegs quite often. They called it B&P (blanks and postage). You'd send someone blank tapes, and a self-addressed padded mailer and they'd return them to you with the concert recorded onto them. I'm sure in the days of paypal, you could work this out with some generous person. I'd look in the Canada forums first to cut down on shipping costs.
Copying artist albums is a no-no, though.
Like Coup said, don't pay for them. It's just wrong for someone to be collecting on another's art just because he burnt it to CD. |

| Okay thanks for the kind words and encouragements. I thought about upgrade my internet speed but I don’t think it would make a difference because my PC is like 6 to 7 years old. I think I got a 455 MHZ computer. Sad, I know but I’m getting a laptop soon, I’m almost saved up, I should get one by June. Livesets only cost 5 bucks from that guy and I buy every so often, I don’t load up too much. I thought about getting some Sasha sets, he also sometimes gives out Free Sets now and then when I buy a lot from him, so it’s okay. I was thinking about getting Sasha’s set before the one he did for Maida Vale in Istanbul, any good? |

| I personally won't listen to Sasha anymore, I rarely download any liveset anymore. Mr.Abletron has been happy playing records that everyone else kills. What happened to the legendary nutter who used to play records that no one else had and then they rushed to the record shop to find some of those records? |

am I the only one that feels that Sasha is more about the technology he uses (Ableton) than the tunes he plays?
people seem to praise him just because he uses Ableton but don't seem to take too big notice of the tunes.
It's like buying a car loaded with nice technology and stuff but the car handling is really poor. |

Yeah... I'm kinda hoping Ableton fades out (know it's not gonna happen). It's a cool concept and makes for some interesting effects, but it's just not so impressive knowing that it's done with a computer.
I'm not gonna boycott an artist just because of a computer program, but I do wish he'd use it less often.. |

I have to agree with Sasha losing it a bit :( .... but isn't that due to the increased use of cd/mp3/internet taking away the 'bounderies' on exclusive tracks?
He plays a tune tonight, some guy makes a movieclip with sound on his digi cam and a sample is up on TA/GU/MS tomorrow .... it's much harder to keep stuff exclusive these days |

It saddens me because Sasha could create a musical journey like no other. John Digweed was said to be able to take you on a journey out of records but Sasha could create something from nothing. Sasha has so much talent that he fails to use it and that bores me senseless. When Sasha goes back to playing records again and ditches the abletron, I'll go see him, which judging by his record, he probably will shortly. Richie Hawtin uses abletron but at least he tries to push the limits of technology and expands on it and he still pushes the buttons. |

didnt read many responces so these were possibly already mentioned:
my favorite sasha set that i have that captures his "new" sound is from feb 18, 2005 when he played live in orlando. btw... as far as i know if the guy you're buying from is selling you like.. radio rips or things like that, he cant sell it for money. livesets are free. dont pay anything for them.

I sort of agree, but I think he has his on nights, and his fudge nights where he doesnt put much effort into it. Its a shame hes so lazy lol...because he could do some crazy stuff with that controller.
When I saw him in Las Vegas in October...his set was just amazing...blew the out of any live recording of him I heard in all of 2005. And he even trainwrecked out of the first track!
I think the problem is they aren't leaking his really good sets :wtf:

The problem is most of the sets that have been released are short...they aren't true Sasha...he needs 3+ hours to go somewhere.
At ICE Las Vegas he played 85% stuff I had never heard before and was completely new to me...the remaining 15% I knew from the Lithuania set. I think I said "What the is this track??!?!!" about 20 times that night... |

Your right about alot of things, but...what does Ableton really have to do with it? It allows him to do some cool mashups when he feels like and pull of some pretty clean mixes...other than that hes still playing other people's records (or .wav's). CD/Ableton/Vinyl, there isnt much difference...if he goes back to CD/Vinyl he'll still be playing the same .
Btw I'd love to see him spin wax or even some CDs...just to say I have...since so far all the shows I've seen have been using Abletr0n. |
