yes and no.... DARE basically told us (at least, my class) how good drugs make you feel but that they ruin families and do this and do that to you... they never explain how... they never show you movies like Requiem For A Dream, or Trainspotting, that actually leave an impression... they tell you "weed makes you feel good, but its only a temporary feeling" and thats NOT how u get a point across to kids... thats how it was at my school, they never got into the grime and truth about what drugs do to you... |
thats pretty much the opposite of what drug education was at my school, they say that weed, coke w/e does this and that, permanent brain damage etc. theres no honesty in drug education right now and it turns kids off.
requiem for a dream.. great movie btw |

if you take pills, look at yourself in 10 years... i dont know anyone from the 80s and early 90s that did pills and doesnt regret it (or their shrink and depression medicine doesnt). and as far as drugs higher up in the drug pyramid, i dont think i need to tell you about the grime associated with those... and as far as weed, yes i know people whos life revolves around blazing... i dont care how harmless ppl say it is, blazing 4 times a day at school (like half my high school back when i was in HS) isnt normal... i dont go to the bathroom 4 times a day |

the thing is that the people who use a drug and become addicted or revolve their life around drug use are vastly outnumbered, of course anyone can point to individual examples to try and prove otherwise... If that was the case I could point to my best friend from college who did 5x as much as I did and graduated magna cum laude from BU (3.7 GPA i think) and is currently attending one of the top med schools in the country...
and whats your definition of harmless? if someone is perfectly content doing something that only affects themselves it shouldnt be anyone else's concern. alcohol and cigarettes are both more dangerous to the user and to society than weed.
if i want to smoke weed, eat a dozen twinkies and watch half baked for the 47th time that seems pretty harmless to me. :)
(i dont smoke anymore, im just sayin) |

i was thinking the exact same thing. he makes it seem like he is this anti drug person, but he does it. at least if you do drugs, dont make it seem like you are some anti drug person. |

| I am on 2c-i right now. Does that make me a grimey or dirty person? Does it make me less educated? Does it make me anything other than who I already am? I think eating some mushrooms on occaision is not a big deal. And it has never hindered the way I live my everyday life. Meanwhile, if I had drank liquor tonight, I'd likely not be coherent enough to type out this message. So I say... YAY DRUGS! |

im not some straight-edge little antidrug virgin but certain questions pop up... are you on 2C-i because you feel need to do it? and if u regard 2C-i or mushroom use as occasional, is that only your mind trying to tell yourself its harmlessly occasional and not occasionally addictive? was the night not good enough that you needed 2C-i? if so, thats hindering the way you live everyday life.... i dont mean to come off as attacking you in any way, hey, if you can function with drug use, thats cool... frankly, im just interested in the psychological aspect of it all (ive taken a bunch of psychology courses throughout school so questions like those are meant rhetorically, and not aimed at YOU as an attack or anything :))... its more of an interest of mine, rather than a crusade against drugs, sorry if it came out the wrong way though! |

:p
It's cool. I understand. In the same way you're curious about why people do drugs, I'm curious as to why people DON'T do drugs. Especially when they drink liquor and beer like it's water. There are just as many dangers with alcohol as there are with drugs.
I am not the drugs that I take. They do not define me. If you saw me walking down the street or in a mall on a Tuesday evening, you would have no idea that I occaisonally dabble in subtances. My mushroom use is limited to about once a year. Not only because it's hard to find around here, but because I respect it's power. Even if I grew them in my house, I would not take them more than once every six months.
2c-i... I'm still in the process of figuring it out. So I have done it more frequently than I will once I get the hang of it and figure out what it's all about.
I am a very happy and optimistic person. I am also very lucky because I have an extremely non-addictive personality. I respect the things that I do and I have read loads and loads about them before trying them. I do not do them just to get "ed up." I do them to open my mind. To let me see things from different angles.
I hope that clears it up a little better and puts you better into the mind of a drug addict. |

Well... I did some research and I came aross someone who had it. :p It's not something you can go to your neighborhood drug dealer and ask for.
As for what it does... it's a hallucinogen. Pretty strong actually. Visuals are more intense than mushrooms and, I assume, less than LSD. It doesn't seem to be as much of a mind altering drug as mushrooms either. A lot more visual and a lot less of a mind . |

yeah id agree with that. the drug debate has left no room for a middle ground. its either you dont do anything and you're normal or you're an addict roaming alleyways. its not unreasonable that someone can work M-F 9-5 and take a couple pills at a club, or smoke a joint and be a functioning member of society... theres vey little black and white with drugs because virtually everything about them is completely subjective, it all shades of grey |
