My favorite would have to be:

1492, Conquest of Paradise-- (Vangelis)

Vangelis is the same guy that composed the Chariots of Fire soundtrack... His work with synthesizers is amazing :)
Konijn
Midnight Express -- moroder ftw :)

Vangelis ftw. Even if 1492 was a poor movie the soundtrack was outstanding. also his soundtrack for Alexander was really really good.

The House of Flying Daggers <- This one is just amazing
The Last Samurai
The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe
The Lord of The Rings - The Fellowship of The Ring
The Karate Kid (the orchestral music, not those 80's pop songs)
Scoops
Less the Zero soundtrack

Moby - 'God Moving Over The Face Of Water' is probably one of the best pieces of music to be used in a film. Any of you who have seen the final scene in 'Heat' with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro will know what I mean.

I love the theme tunes to Teminator 1 & 2, think they really suits the whole idea of the films. Another great piece of film score is Michael Nyman - 'The Promise', which is the theme to 'The Piano'...have a guess what instrument is used!

For overall film score, I would have to say Braveheart but I am biased cos its my favourite film too! :tongue2

Ennio Morricone's epic scores for:

The Good The Bad And The Ugly
A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
Once Upon A Time In The West

excellent movies - excellent soundtracks

Couldn't agree more. Morricone is the master. Even if you have him stereotyped for Western scores he's written many great scores that you wouldn't have suspected- take his brilliantly effective music on Carpenter's remake of The Thing.

Coup
Mortal Kombat :p

I know, he's made so much other good besides spaghetti western but I'm a huuuge sucker for those movies and I love the way he used different animal screams in those. Just listen to that coyote in the the good.
:D GENIOUS
