I need a little help from anyone who has some spare time to answer a short questionnaire on donating blood. Apparently Canadian Blood services is really short on the donations and people under 30 donate the least :(

Questionnaire:
1. When was the last time you donated blood?
If you are a regular donor: Why do you give? Where do you give? What do you think of people who don't give?
If you do not donate regularly:
2. Why do you not donate?
3. If you don't donate, what would it take to make you donate?
4. Do you know how to go about giving blood?
5. Do you know where to give blood?
6. Are there any reasons people can't give blood?
7. Do you know anyone who donates regularly?
8. Do your parents donate blood? |

2. I would love to donate, I've just never put forth the effort to find out how, when & where.
3. Essentially for somebody to just feed me the necessary information to donate, and then just some free time :p

6. Possibilities why I can't donate blood? Possibly drug use, again something I'd need to look up/clarified for me.

2. Not eligible (due to medication).
3. No incentive is required. If I was eligible, I would donate.

1. Unsure - back in the 90s for sure.
2. An aversion to needles, as well as never having bothered to want to expend the effort and time to give blood.
3. Unsure - maybe a girlfriend who insistent on me doing it with her ;).
4. Yes, quite well.
5. It varies, but the places where you can donate are always repeatedly detailed on the local radio station when that time comes.
6. There are many reasons I am sure.
7. Personally, no. I know of others in Collingwood that do, though.

1. Everytime the school clinic is here - usually every 6-8 weeks. Last one was in late December.
I give blood at school and consider myself a regular donor. They call me now to remind me about the clinics! As for the reason why, my dad asked me to come with him one day as he was a regular donor and I just kept it up since. As for people who don't give blood, I really have no opinion - to each their own. I understand the aversion to needles bit though. I can't say I'm the biggest fan myself. |

2. My piercings and tattoos cause for certain limits... ie your not supposed to donate until like 2 years after a tattoo or something like that
3. I would like to donate... but like i said the tats and piercings cause problems

-I donated twice. Have a fear of needles and having one stuck in me for 15 mins is not fun, no matter how altruistic I wanna be.

-Another way to get my blood not using needles

-Some diseases, unsure of medical status of your sex partner(s), visiting some countries.
