I also feel its underrated as and is the best track in the last couple of years... THAT TIESTO MADE :)

slight difference hehe, but i agree with ya though, i like this track alot.

it's pretty good. took some time to get a little used/into it tho - first couple of listens i wasn't a fan...but it grew on me.

once you even mentioned that song i realized that ive always wanted to know what the lyrics translate into...does anyone know what she is saying...or is it just sounds?

Hardly surprising since Nyana is the weakest tune on the album. Uninspiring melody, weak production, just plain boring. In the same series with his remix of Breezer...

It's the only track on the album that doesn't credit anyone else and it clearly shows.

nyana is actually a cannibalization of tiesto's outstanding 1999 remix of subtle by design's 'sirius' -- it's prob. why i thought nyana was one of the better tunes off of a mediocre album.

Great track! but the best track from the album is "Walking On Clouds"

I would like to know that too. But i doubt if anyone has any clue on that.

It sounds hauntingly beautiful though and in my opinion, is one of the rare occassions when a haunting melody is being complimented by a solid bass groove.

definately it is. It wasnt that bad of an album too. Just over-played by commercial/local Djs.

Um, I posted a link to the lyrics and translation in a previous post to this thread.

Aye. I certainly like it better than a tear in the open.

TOR
it's definitely a good track.. pretty minimal, but that's what i like about it. i like the way it slowly builds up to short but huge climax where all of the underlying emotions are released.

i agree it does not compare to some of his older tracks, but it's a solid track nonetheless

I think it missed attention due to the color scheme. Here is the relevant quote from that thread/link for all those still looking for lyrics/meaning/translation with due credit to the original poster.

Obviously with plenty time on my hands - I was doing a bit of googling and found some info on this track.

The original song was written in 1788 by Annie Campbell. She was supposed to be married with sea-captain Allan Morrison, but he and his crew sailed into a storm and sank onto the way to see her.
She wrote and dedicated the song "AILENN DUINN" [Dark Allan] to him - and she died a few months later - her body found washed ashore right where Allan was found a few months before. :(

It is indeed in Gaelic and the rendition by Capercaillie is slightly different.

There is also a play based on this song and story, written by Tormod Domhnallach.

The lyrics to the actual song - the lines in bold are the ones that we know of [Cura Me, A Tear in The Open, etc] :

Gura mise tha fo èislean
Moch sa' mhadainn is mi 'g èirigh

Ò hì, shiubhalainn leat...
Hì rì bhò, hò rù bhì
Hì rì bhò, hò rinn ò hò
Ailein Duinn, ò hì shiubhalainn leat

Ma 's e 'n cluasag dhut a ghaineamh
Ma 's e leabaidh dhut an gheamainn

Ò hì, shiubhalainn leat...
Hì rì bhò, hò rù bhì
Hì rì bhò, hò rinn ò hò
Ailein Duinn, ò hì shiubhalainn leat

Ma 's en t-iasg do choinlean geala
Ma 's na ròin do luchd-faire

Ò hì, shiubhalainn leat...
Hì rì bhò, hò rù bhì
Hì rì bhò, hò rinn ò hò
Ailein Duinn, ò hì shiubhalainn leat

Dh'òlainn deoch ge boil le càch e
Dè dh'fhuil do choim 's tu 'n
Dèidh do bhathadh...

Ò hì, shiubhalainn leat...
Hì rì bhò, hò rù bhì
Hì rì bhò, hò rinn ò hò
Ailein Duinn, ò hì shiubhalainn leat

English Translation:

How sorrowful I am
When I rise early in the morning,
Ò hì I would walk with you.
Hì ri bhò.... o hò,
Brown-haired Alan, Ò hì, I would walk with you

If the sand be your pillow,
If the seaweed be your bed,
Ò hì I would walk with you
Hì ri bhò.... o hò,
Brown-haired Alan, Ò hì, I would walk with you

If the fish are your candles bright,
If the seals are your watchmen,
Ò hì I would walk with you
Hì ri bhò.... o hò,
Brown-haired Alan, Ò hì, I would walk with you

I would take a drink, though everyone would be scandalised,
Of your heart's blood after you were drowned...
Ò hì I would walk with you
Hì ri bhò.... o hò,
Brown-haired Alan, Ò hì, I would walk with you.
