But he could get away with it because he's That Good.
Note also that the Lakers is not a good team right now, even with some decent players. |

Haha...don't hate the man for knowing how good he is. Unlike most players who shoot the lights out, he was 28-46 from the field. Most are below 50% on their big nights.
As a human being, he's definitely a up. He's a great b-ball player though. Two big egos will never mesh on a team. |

so what, the whole NBA values individuals more than the team itself...thats why 90% of players are 'punks'...if you don't like that then too bad. $$=status=power.
The game itself was insane, the entire lakers team scored only 40 points, thats less than half of Kobe's total...Also he outscored the entire raptors team in the 2nd half! |

I'd agree with that.
He's one hell of a player...arguably the most fearsome offensive player in the game today...pretty much *unstoppable* when he's on.
BUT...as a team player, he's ing awful. MVP? Hell no. He may be the best offensive player...but "most valuable" to his team? He's the very REASON the Lakers will go nowhere. His teammeates are not involved enough in the offense to compensate when he's hurt, on the bench, or having a bad game.
enjoy your stats, Kobe...and congrats, you've got what you want...you're "the man", not having to share the spotlight with anyone...except that it's on a team that's going nowhere anytime soon.
I'd rather build a team around players like Dirk, LeBron, Allen, Nash, Wade, Shaq, Garnett, etc...even Bosh...long before I'd build one around Kobe.
Look at teams who've won championships, made the finals, etc...they have multiple stars too, but who play as a team: San Antonio (Duncan, Parker, Ginobili), Detroit (their whole starting lineup, lol), Phoenix (Nash, Amare, Marion), Miami (Shaq, Wade), etc.
meh...never liked the guy...but I do respect his crazy skills. |

Phil Jackson is still the head coach.
I was watching the highlights when they showed in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Stupid Canadian focused sports casters, didnt even mention that Kobe was in a tear! I only noticed when i saw in the corner that he had 50+!!!
Im downloading the game now. I really want to see what one of these types of games looks like. |
