Next month I am going to Cancun, Mexico for a week. First off, I haven't even so much as been on a plane before, never mind going to a different country from the Americas. (EDIT: I am referring to Canada and the U.S.).
Anyway, I have a 7 night arrangement at an all inclusive hotel. My meals are paid for, and a lot of the entertainment is covered, but I will need some spending money if I wish to buy anything, and for trips to the clubs.
How much in American/Canadian (let's just say it's the same for arguments sake,) would you think I should take? Does anyone anticipate the prices to be very high? I mean, it is a huge tourist area, so they must have things marked up, right?
Anyone been before and can give some insight?
Also, if anyone can give me some useful spanish lines, that would be awesome. :D
P.S. WOOT I AM GOING ON A MOTHERF&(&%$# TRIP TO CANCUN!!!!!! |

make sure u get drunk and flash your boobs! lol
no but, i've never been...never had a desire to either. i dunno, i'm not really drawn to the whole "spring break" chaos...not even when i was like 18. i just never wanted to do that.
but i'm sure that despite spring breakers, it's a beautiful place to go.
i would bring like $500 |

$500 is good. $1000 & you'll live like a queen.
The depreciation of pesos vs dollars is huge.
2 EQUIS beers are like 15,000 pesos which is roughly $1.75
Have fun! Take pics and do flash boobs....bring back proof. :thepirate |

$500 is a good amount.
If you want to do any souvenir shopping, do it in downtown Cancun and not in the hotel zones. You'll get more for your money.
What meal plan did you get? IMO, The prepaid meals are a ripoff. All you get are tix for the chain restaurants that are on the hotel zones and they just serve three items. |

she's going "All inc" which means that all snacks meals etc are paid for in advance. Meals at hotels like this are usually buffet style & quite often themed, italian, chinese, mexican, thai etc, plus all locally produced soft drinks & alcoholic drinks.
Take into mind any imported drinks may need paying for, so make sure u have enough money, maybe take travellers checks. |

"All drinks (Domestic brands, Domestic beer, House Wine, 10am-12 midnight)"
Does this include liquor? I wont drink beer, just spirits. If it doesn't include it, I will probably be spending cash on alcohol. |
