Volume faders

hey guys-

just a quick question...do you guys use the volume faders when mixing? or just eq's and crossfade? just want to know if it's somthing that i should be doing. thanks.:D
Stu Cox
I tend to use a bit of a comibination of channel faders and crossfaders depending on what I'm doing, tends to be more on the channel faders though (and obviously eq) - it gives you more control. But if you prefer using the crossfader or it's perfectly suited to the mix you want to do then there's no reason why you shouldn't use it.
CosmoKid
I use channel faders and eq. hip-hop DJs tend to use the cross fader more.
Zild
I use the crossfader for scratching, beatjuggling, and quick cuts for effect, so 95% of the time it stays in the middle, and I don't touch it.
PoisonJam19
I use the channel faders, I feel I can make the mixes more fluid by using them.
s3nate
Channel Faders. I find it is more easier to control the volume.
ASFSE
oh wow, lol, seems like everyone uses the channel faders, and i've been using the crossfader this wholetime... haha, thanks for the replies guys! now i know...:)
Freak
I dont have faders- I have rotary knobs :toothless
Havent touched the cross fader in years
Cobalt
I almost never use the crossfader because it lacks control compared to using volume levels.
DJ Damerchi
I think in terms of volume control, it is definately better to just use channel faders and equing. for trance music, I find that using the crossfader does not assist my mixing much at all.

Trogdor
I usually turn off my crossfader. But, I occasionally use it to control filters. Never for mixing, though.
trancecadet
volume faders, gain and EQ's.. I have NEVER used my crossfader (not on this mixer anyways cos I stopped doing it on my last mixer). I Should sell my crossfader...Its a P&G and its still practically brand new lol!
