| What about HAARP blasting gazillions of watts into the ionosphere creating holes that allow harmful rays of the sun in? Angels don't play this HAARP |

Hey man shaddap!!!
The weather has been great here!:happy2:
I look forward to the palm trees and skimpy bikinis come summertime...
Seriously though, we haven't had any accumilation of snow so far which by now is just...well....wierd...
I blame the fact that I actually bought a new pair of large black leather boots; hasn't snowed since.
Coincidence? Possibly... |

sorry, i didnt read the other one but this one :D
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me— and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Has anyone ever heard of the Ice Age?
This is another period in history where temperatures were warmer than usual. Our last age happened about 10,000 years ago. Mind you that in those days there was no technology, pollution, or any viable reason for this to occur. In fact most believe the cause for the ice age was a combination of three factors: "atmospheric composition (particularly the fraction of CO2 and methane), changes in the Earth's orbit around the Sun known as Milankovitch cycles (and possibly the Sun's orbit around the galaxy), and the arrangement of the continents." Of course the ice age didn't last forever and eventually phased out. This is called nature taking its course. Now fast forward to today and you are hearing reports of major ice caps melting, warmer temperatures, and so forth. My personal conclusion is nature taking its course once again and to answer your question, the reason nobody would admit to global warming is because it hasn't been proven yet.

A lot of people do admit this. In fact the majority of scientists and world leaders do admit this. You're just trapped in a country where those who are the loudest happen to have an interest in keeping the conclusion in doubt.
Yeah, but local drops in temperature is quite consistent with global warming. (Hence the "global"). Didn't you see "The Day after Tomorrow"?;) |
Realize that and you cant just say that because its colder or warming this time of year is part of it which I say time to time but just in sarcastic way. If you look at the facts the gases fossil fuels whatever killing the ozone layer its bound to happen. I just cant belive people when they say oh well if you look over time this has happend before oh rly? to this extent?
There are practically no glaciers in mountains anymore because they have melt. The polars are melting causing sea levels to rise. And temperatures are way off for the past 5 years. |

pretty much any self respecting scientist accepts the reality of global warming. it may be hard to prove it as solid fact like its hard to prove the universe is infinite but there is enough data to safely assume it is true.
its not universally accepted by everyone because the changes required to "do something about it" are enormous that stretch to the very core of our way of life. there would need to be major changes to the way we live day to day and how governments and industries operate. some people aren't willing to make those changes
heres something i googled that seemed pertinent
| quote: | AMY GOODMAN: Ross Gelbspan, can you talk about this debate around global warming?
ROSS GELBSPAN: I can, Amy. And again, thanks so much for giving this subject the air time this morning. The very fact that you are using the word debate shows how pervasive this campaign of disinformation and deception has been. There really is no debate about global warming. What you have on the one side are more 2,000 scientists from 100 countries reporting to the U.N. in what is the largest and most rigorously peer-reviewed scientific collaboration in history. What you have on the other side are basically a very small handful of so-called greenhouse skeptics, the majority of whom have been paid by the coal and oil industries, and for that reason, it has -- because of the megaphone they have been given by industry, they have created the impression in the minds of journalists that it is really a debate, and as a result, most stories, until recently, have portrayed it as a he said/she said kind of thing. And I think the public basically took the attitude after a while, that, you know, come back and tell us what you know when you make up your mind. And as a result, the public has sort of turned off to this issue, even as the signals from the planet are becoming very shrill, and the timetable for action is very slow and narrow. |

I really hope you were joking. There was a segment about this on NBC's Today show where they asked some environmental scientists if this could actually happen and he said the movie was an extreme exaggeration. |

Great reasoning there. How about :
Previously pilots have flewn badly, and there's precedence of an airplane hitting the Empire State Building. I conclude that the 911 attacks were simply accidents - caused by bad piloting. |
