And I get a reply pretty fast from someone, so I wrote him and then he wrote me back for a second time. He writes:
Hello ,
Thanks for getting back to me,As i said earlier that am based in west africa and i want to buy the Speaker from you.i want to inform you that i have a client in the united state who is owing me $3260, i will instruct him to issue a cashier's check to you in the amount is owing me and as soon as the check clears your bank you will deduct your $350 from it and you will send me my balance,
Note,i will like you to send me my balance via western union money transfer and i want you to know that i will be using part of my balance to arrange for the pickup of the items.Get back to me with your contact information so that i can forward it to my client to issue the cashier's check to you without any delay.
Get back to me as soon as you get my e-mail.so that we can round things up in a timely fashion..iwill be trusting in this business transaction.
Thanks in this regards

Is it just me or does this sound out of the ordinary? Has anyone ever been approached with something like this? It just screams fraud to me. Any input on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I work for a company that deals with sending/receiving WU money transfers. It's a scam. If you already have their personal info I would contact WU and notify them of the potential scam so they can issue an e-mail to all WU agents.
Haha...that guy's pathetic grammar should be a red flag.. |

Thanks guys. Yeah, the grammer was very poor. Not too mention he was using a yahoo account. He hasn't e-mailed me back since I gave him a laundry list of questions. It's rather odd someone would want to give me more money than the payment requested and then want me to send the remainder to him. Do people actually fall for this? I sent a report to craigslist frauds. But it's a yahoo account so I'm sure he'll still be lurking.
Any ideas on how to win in this situation--aka screwing him over! |
