since cricket sucks almost as much dick as hellraiser, this time of year we should really be focused on the superbowl. this time round its the seahawks versus the steelers.
no tips from me coz i havent seen a game all year, but am very much looking fwd to having the TV on at work on monday (assuming its on free to air dammit).
anyone else a fan of what is (imo) the most tactically driven ball sport in the world? |

taactically driven is correct, more time spent off the field than on it
i mean seriously, no sportsmen (in real sports) have the time to come up with a play and then set themselves up to execute it like these drongos. in a real sport, one that is dynamic in nature, real skill is shown because split second decisions need to be made. nothing is more beautiful than watching a backline slice open a defence because the fly-half noticed that they were a little short or if a player noticed that his outside defender is wandering in opening up the flick pass or cutout. that rugby example might not suit most, but it can be applied to all team sports like football and afl
nfl = lose |

i wish youd used a soccer example instead oli_a, i could at least respect that. rugby is gay gay gay gay!
to love a sport coz it has arguable more skill than another is to miss the point of watching sport in the first place. otherwise everyone would be motor racing fans ;)
in regards to your split-second comment, you obviously havent watched that much grid iron. hmmmm, 3 blitzers breaking the line of scrimmage, the quarterback obviously has all day to make his decision with those 300 pound monsters charging down on him ;)
i agree tho, the break up of the game can be a pain, esp with the yanks and their advertising during games :rolleyes: |

yeah i forgot to add, the quarterback is the only one who can earn respect
but please, anyone can be a 300 pound monster (sort of). there is no stamina.....the game is sooooo broken up and it makes it soooooo in boring. wait, let me retract that stamina comment, i love weightlifting and shotput:toothless
and remember this is coming from someone who loves sport so much he enrolled in sport science degree and ate it.
/edit add running backs to the respect category |

yeah, the broken up part is a pain, tho necessary. i just love the wargamey part of it: right, heres the particular units we\'re putting on the field, lets see what the defence has got.
highlights are the way to go, all the plays, none of the stoppage. damn i wish i had fox still :( |
