Purchasing electronics online

I have been doing some research online because im about to purchase a new camera and have found some pretty awesome prices from sites like express cameras/best price cameras/camera city ext...
My only issue with this is some of the reviews I read about these sites. (shipping issues, people getting ripped off ext.) But some of these sites have better reviews than others (of course the ones that are a little more expensive having better reviews.)
I would like to know if any of you have purchased anything from these sites and what was the outcome? Is there any that you would recommend? Any to deff stay away from? Or even better yet, if your uncle/sister/cousin works for Canon and can hook up a sick discount I would love you forever.:toothless
-Thanks!! |

newegg.com +1
You're right about the lenses though. You'll end up spending more on those than you did on your camera body... be warned! |

| My mom just purchased that camera. I can ask where she got it from, she got a really good deal. Have you thought of going to B&H photo, they may have some sort of prive guarantee, if not them i suggest newegg as everyone else said. |

definately stay away from those brooklyn/canal street based stores. not saying all of them are bad, but most of them are.
check reseller ratings...
www.resellerratings.com
a lot of them will sell you the camera and then hard sell you accessories and threaten not to send you the camera unless you buy from there. also, some of them (read most) are not authorized sellers. with a camera liek that, make sure it is a reutable seller.
fatwallet.com and slickdeals will post good deals on these cameras from time to time.
here is a coupon posted on fatwallet right now for this camera....

That's a good deal. Body comes to $720 which, after tax, is still a little cheaper than the $809 at newegg.com. I'd still go with newegg though since I've had bad experiences with these coupon deals at Dell. I remember going through two months of backorder delays with weekly emails/calls from Dell asking me to confirm that I still wanted to keep the order...
Definitely go with the "body only" though and spring for a higher quality lens. The kit lens is decent at best and not worth the extra $80 IMO. |
