Be realistic they dont mind if they were africans coming, they're interested in the money it's going to bring. In my country we "love" tourists too, just like the people in that town in romania. But the truth is we love you're money, not you ;) |

| dominican republic, its tourist central down there, i do currently reside in canada though. i can readily tell you everyone just wants your money, even if they are friendly in nature, money is still what makes everyone much more pleasent. |

First off, dominican is hardly a tourist central, just got back from there. nice but not the nicest place i ever been to, no offense. second of all, the towns were so -hole ish that i've never seen anything like it. my grandparents chicken coops in the Ukraine weren't as bad as some shacks i've seen outside punta cana. so, obviously not too many people there actually get any of "our" money.
Now, what does tourism have to do with the US being in a Warsaw Pact country? |

I wasnt relating tourism to the US being in a Warsaw pact country, i was given an example to this donnybrasco person of how people dont really "like americans", they just want the money, and it could be anyone.
Secondly in response to us not getting enough money out of tourism, you are incorrect, although it is true that a lot of places are very marginilized (sp?), even around tourist hubs, Punta Cana is but one of many tourist spots in the country. And to illustrate the fact the we do get a lot of money to tourism, the second biggest source of income for the country after money being sent into the country by dominicans living abroad, is tourism, followed by exports.
I will also point out that i take offense in your offensive language, calling places "holes", ;)
