| not in the ways you're thinking. Real trance, going back to the days of Goa, was way more hypnotic than what we have now, it was hypnotic rather than uplififting. didn't have huge breakdowns, just melodies to tantalise the senses. |

| No, it's probably just because you're arrogant, and a prick. |

In fact, there is still hypnotic trance out there, generally in the form of psy and prog.
In fact, a lot of epic trance would be pretty hypnotic if it weren't for the forced breakdowns and melodies. Ligaya comes to mind. |

Nah, it's not a bit hypnotising with or without the breakdowns. Modern trance music is about beautiful (well, sometimes, like Crystal Clouds imho) melodies, soft percs, while years back trance was really hard to listen, heavily entrancing and cold. Resistance D - Cosmic Love comes to mind. I mean, just listen to it, and see what will you imagine while listening. |

ah, one of my faves from the last year. pure bliss. And yes, compare that to 'the epic' stuff now, and you're way off. As said before, breakdowns make 'hypnotic' impossible. |
