Packer, Carlos, and I got a little late start leaving San Antonio and despite my insane hunger I figured it was best to head straight to the venue and settle in. We got there a little after 9:30 and Andrew was spinning some really good trancey Progressive. I went about and worked the room for a bit and said my hellos to Nathan and Company before heading back to the booth. I had absolutely NO plan whatsoever as to what I would do, but lately that's been a good thing. I chatted with Andrew for a little bit and then put the headphones on.
For some odd reason I always have trouble at Sky during the beginning of my sets. It takes me a bit to get used to the Xone 464 despite using a Xone 92 every day I practice and I can never seem to get a clear reference point from those monitors. I had a shaky transition into "Under the Influence" but felt I transitioned decently into the remaining tracks with the situation handed to me.
I'm glad the crowd dug what I was playing. I was really curious as to how they would react to "Talk", "Guilt is a Useless Emotion", and "Narcotic Fuel" and they seemed to eat it all up. I was very satisfied with my set and it made me feel happy when I was asked to sign autographs afterwards...never saw that one coming. I feel like I'm finally learning how to be an opening DJ.
What can I say about Ferry that has not been said already? He's the DJ that inspired me to become a DJ in the first place and I enjoyed every minute of his set.
It was good seeing you guys and I can honestly say that was the best dam IHOP I had ever had. Its amazing how good a fish sandwich can taste when you haven't eaten in 18 hours. See you guys next time!!! |

Had I known about IHOP, I'd have gone with. Stupid me is now jonesing for IHOP. Curse you all.
For those unaware, "Nathan" is me, not the Ballistic version. There will be confusion in the future, I'm sure. |

| I saw a ton of pics snapped during my set. I'm far from photogenic...but nonetheless interested to see any that were posted. If only I coulda had someone videotaping from inside the booth when I dropped both Max Graham remixes |

| There were an awful lot of camera phones there, same as with Crystal Method, and nary a pic posted. Kinda suspicious, that. |

I got there around 12:10 last night and Ferry was already on the decks. What can I say about that man that hasnt been said already Ferry puts both Armin and Tijs to shame. Sorry that I missed all the opening DJ sets Im glad to hear that you guys ripped it proper.
I didnt even realize that SxSW was goin on but what should have gave it away was all the emo kids that I saw along 6th St. :whip: |
