:haha: :haha: :haha:
Yes, your Sony Vio should work as long a it's a P3 500Mhz or higher.
That setup... :stongue: Let me just tell you that I worked my ass off for it. My CDJs are the CDJ800's which are cheaper ($489 each), and work just as well. Serato is $539. |

What this i dont get, you mean to tell me you can have a lap top, Serato Scratch Live and one CDJ and make it all happen? |
Yes!
Here's a few combinations that work...
Serato + 2 CDJs
Serato + 2 Turntables
Serato + 1 CDJ & 1 Turntable
Serato + 1 CDJ
Serato + 1 Turntable |

Here is the thing. Serato lets you access your digital music files (mp3,wav, etc.) So you have all of your collection in your laptop, ready to cue up at any time. Serato then lets you control the playback of the file/track using an external controller i.e. a Turntable or CDJ type unit. You can get time coded CD's or Vinyl that Serato reads and manipulates the playback based on the information it is receiving from the time code. So, you now have complete and total control over your digital music library using the same hardware that DJ's already know how to use.
That's basically Serato..
Ableton is a whole different animal. Ableton is a powerful music production software. It gives you the ability to create an entire song, you can record any instrument or vocal (given you have the proper hardware) and/or use the Operator software instrument package (this is an optional package) to create amazing sounds. So, not only can you do all that, Live will also let you take any song and with some work on our part beatmatch songs and make a complete mix right from Live. This is what Armin does for ASOT broadcasts. It proabbly does a lot more that I don't know about yet too.
The big question here is what is PVD doing with both.
We have some info, but I need to know more. |
