Thanks to Del for the hook up!
First time at the Docks. Love it. Docks > Guv any time. Everything was perfect. Coat check was fast, ventilation was good, sound was slightly low but not too noticeable, decor was good. Will definitely return again.
Got in about 9:30 saw Chris Allen. Decent set though I'm not a fan of proggy sound and vocal trance.
Sean Crawford awesome. Never heard him before but he got my groove going.
Kevin Harcourt I came to see and he went over my expectation! I was trying to keep it still since I was really sick but my god. This man should be declared illegal because of amount of ass shaking he can induce in a person. This man is dangerous!
Dennis spun I thought one of his better sets. Love the more variety in your sound.
After the TA DJs went to see J00f and he got my already tired and broken body into another level. Deep throbbing psytrance = good! Plus the fact that I've never seen him live and I was hankering for some proper psytrance.
Caught a bit of Adam Sheridan and would have been nice to see what he had to offer but had to leave. Oh well.
Tune of the Night: Second Sun - Playground (NuNRG remix)
Quote of the Night: 'Oy! Oy! Oy ing oy!'
Overall: 9/10
PS: Love meeting new TAs! Seems that I'm getting a bit of notoriety hehehe :)
PPS: Ray, Graham, I saw a poor sod who's a Portsmouth fan! PORTSMOUTH! LMAO
PPPS: Did anyone else catch those two vaginos who came in for few mins and left? I almost cracked out laughing! |

| mark eg was ing brutal, not sure how cracked out he was, but i donno how the he opened with what he did for j00f. Flemming made the best of it but the whole night would have been a lot better had that moron not been on the decks. i'll post my full opinion after i sleep, but flemming was amazing, sheridan was good too, the night could have been way better had the music flowed better, minus mark eg basically. |

Now that I'm all warm on the couch and some classic Union jack playing on winamp, and stage 1 of sketchy sunday complete (mmm doooobies). i am now ready to post my review..
Got a ride on the Tygon express, flew down in record time, thank god for clear weather! (last weekend was hell) Thanks dood.. Always nice to be a passenger every once and a while..
Guestlist was a joke, i pretty much just walked straight into the club. Aaron and tim and kelly went first and they had numbers, having some trouble, then i get asked "You got a number" to which i replied Nope. Some employee barges through the crowd and starts talking to the bouncer, he forgets whats going on and waves me through... lol...
I did my usual "wonder about the club" soaking in the vibe, checking out the crowd and venue (been like hmmm 4 years since i've been back to the docks), The upstairs is nice... Definately a Destiny party vibe with all the youngins. Takes me back, circa 2001 Destiny ascension parties at atlantis..
After a little walk around and a chat with a security guy, we finally found the stairs...waited a few minutes for secuirty to get the line going.. (took security forever to get a stamp at the door, had to show my ID like 4 times, pain in the ass.)
Good to see everyone up in the TA room.. excellent vibe, I caught the last half hour of Sean Crawford, and about the first 45 minutes of Kevin Harcourt. Good solid sets, not ny cup of tea, but i did manage to get my feet moving..
Headed downstairs to check out MARK EG, as he was 5 years ago, CRAZY!!! Dropping hard beats and putting on a show behind the decks. that my friends is SHOWMANSHIP. Nothing but pure energy.
I was then alerted by Tim that it was 2:07 and Dennis was on the decks. W000t.. Ran upstairs.. Wicked dood, just the way i like it.. again and again clean set, great energy.. w000t..
Floated around upstairs from j00f to the TA room and back and forth, finally the techno beat just stole my feet.. haha the rhymes, damn i could MC that hardcore room, yo yo yo...(damn i hate MC's) hahahah but i did also enjoy the total of 13 minutes of hardcore waiting in line to go upstairs... Just enough before your head explodes (haha chem i stole your line)
Overall a wicked night, it was worth the ticket price. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRANCEADDICT!!!!
Big shout to all the TA ladies for wearing their sunday best, always looking amazing!
I shook sooo many hands and the names i got are gone now.. heheh.. but the usual crew from KW and surrounding areas you know who are, w00t great to see you again, next stop the purple room for an amazing night of Dennis Hahn and the one, the only.... DDDDDJJJJJ TTTTTTTTYGONNNNN... heheh.. w00t.. damnit, I'm never gonna get to sleep.. jacked up.. w000t..
I do remember stereo princess annnd Max TO (HAppy Birthday dood), let's see who else, nope all gone maybe it'll come to me later, in due time!!
alright time for stage 3... movie and a doob and hopefully some SLEEP!!
J.
[EDIT] oh yah, i lost my VISA, somewhere.. lol.. DAMMMN. it's cancelled now.. but if someone found one Chop that bitch up! |

Mark EG was entertaining, but the music he played was quite repetitive. I think I enjoyed has stage antics over his music.
Flemming played a crazy (mainly) psy-trance epic set. Almost spiritual.....
The night was definitely worth $30. Loved the set up and perfect crowd size too. |

All I can say about last night is.....well there isn't much to say.
Got there at about 10:45 and got into the guestlist line, the confirmation code I was given (whoever invented this "confirmation code" bull please someone give me a nice serated knife so i can use it on them) didn't work, and the bouncer wouldn't even look up my name.....then some guy walks up behind me, doesn't have his number and gives the guy his name and he looks it up and walks him through!
So 45 minutes and 45 dollars later it's time to get inside.....The Docks is a nice club but nothing too impressive. Got up to the TA room and met up with some folks (nice meeting all you new faces last night as well!!)
Jelo was tearing it up, I FINALLY got to see this guy and he did not dissapoint, he literally killed it, broke the soundsystem in the room!!! Dennis you are a wicked DJ and I would rather listen to you over Mark EG anyday!!! Mark EG was entertaining to watch, but not my style of music at all. J00f blew me away! This guy owned the main room last night :eyes: :) Only got to see a bit of Sheridan but he didn't do anything for me, except make going home seem like a better and better idea.
For some reason I just couldn't get into the whole "destiny rave" thing last night........! |

I came in the room to Sean (Kalemic) playing ing MONSTER tracks, like serious machine vs. machine pounding house. Absolute sickness. The guy is nothing but class on the decks and I'm glad I finally saw you on a decent system. Richard Greg - "Phat Bass". WTF. Awesome.
(on that note, the sound in that tiny room was great, crisp and fackin loud, my ears are ringing a bit still but that could of been from the Green Room shenanigans)
KEVIN HARCOURT
ing retarted. lol Not having ANY faith whatsoever, I thought you'd struggle coming into Seans' "tough act to follow", but yeah I was totally wrong. haha You're first mix in was ridiculous and you only kept a stronger pace from there. Well programmed, tightly mixed with consistent bongo driving madness, and most of all a great stage presense. (something I find you've upped since the other times I've seen you)
- Sucker DJ's
- Dr. Kucho
- Strings of Life
- Hung Up (C&C)
- Das Glockenspiel (closing out the night, hah awesome)
I really should be less shocked in this review. :) Well done mate. |
